As Tall As Lions to release digital EP

As Tall As Lions are set to release a new digital EP entitled Into The Flood November 29th on Triple Crown/East West. The band recorded the EP with Mike Watts over a six day period in October at Vudu Studios in Long Island and are excited for their fans to get a taste of something new before they hibernate in early 2008 to record the follow up to 2006's self titled LP.

"These new recordings are filled with life" says lead singer Daniel Nigro, "For the first time during the recording of Into The Flood we were able to let go of our perfectionist approach to recording and just play. We tried not to over-analyze the tones or the performances which led these songs to flow closer to what you see at our live show."

Into The Flood Track Listing:
1. 505
2. Into The Flood
3. We're The Ones That Keep You Warm At Nite
4. Breakers
5. Blacked Out

"So how did As Tall As Lions make out (At CMJ 2007)? In short, the band was a revelation...{ATAL} have been touring relentlessly since last summer's release of "As Tall As Lions" (East West), and on Friday they played with confidence and a dash of style, running through a dynamic, 50-minute set of ethereal melodies, quiet interludes and explosive crescendos." - Newsday

"Catchy tracks like 'Love, Love, Love (Love Love)' and 'Milk & Honey' show off vocalist Daniel Nigro's unbridled Jeff Buckley-esque range while 'Ghosts Of York' and 'Be Here Now' hit a more mainstream mark with conviction and clarity of an act twice their senior." - Alternative Press, 5 out of 5

"{On As Tall As Lions} the band sounds huge - loads of minute sonic detail and layers of overdubs creates a rich tapestry of sounds..." Pitchfork

Savannah Music Festival lineup announced

The Savannah Music Festival (SMF) unveiled its ambitious 2008 program, a 17-day musical arts marathon featuring nearly 100 events that comprise Georgia's largest music festival. The not-for-profit organization announced that between March 20 and April 5, 2008, its expansion will continue with an array of premieres, one-time-only productions, singular U.S. appearances by international artists and a wealth of educational initiatives. The 19th annual festival will be spread throughout theatres, auditoriums, clubs, open-air thoroughfares and historic places of worship in the old seaport city at the start of its 275th anniversary year.
The 2008 SMF includes extensive amounts of original programming, making it one of the nation's most distinctive musical arts events. SMF 2008 premieres commissioned works by drummer Stewart Copeland, just off of a world tour with The Police, and jazz trombone great Wycliffe Gordon. Inventive and singular productions such as The World of Slide Guitar features virtuosos Jerry Douglas, Derek Trucks, and Debashish Bhattacharya, while Piano Showdown showcases masters such as Hank Jones, Marcus Roberts & Eric Reed. An unprecedented array of classical music concerts spotlights Sensations, six originally conceived chamber music programs under the musical direction of Daniel Hope, and a rare performance by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with Robert Spano conducting pianist Garrick Ohlsson playing the third piano concerto by Rachmaninoff.
"We relish producing this panoply of events in the backdrop of one of America's most beautiful and historic cities," said Rob Gibson, SMF Executive & Artistic Director. "Our primary objective continues to be introducing more people to engaging musical experiences because they provide us with meaning and with a distinctive type of pleasure and emotional stimulation. The musical arts help us to not only develop our own individual senses, but they provide a common bond that benefits the general populace."
SMF continues to combine a diverse array of regional and American musical genres – jazz, blues, Cajun, zydeco, country and bluegrass – with an amalgamation of acclaimed international styles performed by artists whose works are often unfamiliar to U.S. audiences. More than 50 artists from outside the country appear during the 2008 festival, including the brilliant Brazilian mandolin player Hamilton de Holanda, who leads his explosive quintet in its only U.S. engagement.
The 25-year old Spanish vocal prodigy Antonio Pitingo, in only his second U.S. appearance, displays his "flamenco soul" singing that has captured the imagination of his native country.
Contemporary West African music (Angelique Kidjo), modern Portuguese fado singing (Ana Moura), traditional Persian artistry (Ali Akbar Moradi) and acclaimed Indian dance (Nrityagram) are also showcased in special productions.
Educational initiatives also remain at the forefront of SMF's mission. The expanded SWING CENTRAL High School Jazz Band Competition and Workshop offers an opportunity for first-class instruction to some of America's finest young musicians over three days of workshops with jazz masters in a variety of clinics and master classes. Another SMF series affords more than 13,000 students from surrounding counties the opportunity to attend age-appropriate concerts featuring outstanding musicians in historic theaters.
Tickets and series passes are available at http://www.savannahmusicfestival.org/ , by calling 912-525-5050 or at the box office at 216 E. Broughton Street in Savannah.

State Radio readies release and begins tour

STATE RADIO are set to release their second studio album YEAR OF THE CROW--an amalgam of rock, punk and reggae that's as distinctive as it is sublime--February 5 on their own Ruff Shod Records.
Hailing from Boston, the musically inventive, socially and politically charged trio fronted by Dispatch member CHAD STOKES and rounded out by bassist CHUCK FAY and drummer MAD DOG are currently on a U.S. headlining tour with Australia's Beautiful Girls. Fans can expect the group to preview songs from YEAR OF THE CROW--the follow-up to 2006's Us Against The Crown--during the month-long trek.
Produced by Tchad Blake (Peter Gabriel, Pearl Jam, Soul Coughing), YEAR OF THE CROW was recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World studios in Wiltshire, England. The eclectic 13-song disc features the furious blues-thumping anti-Halliburton missive "Gang of Thieves" and the uplifting, trombone-bolstered ska-touched "Barnstorming." Elsewhere, the frenetic, piercing, punkish, proclamation "Guantanamo" finds a seething STOKES, taking aim at the current administration while looking back on the Bush clan's sordid history.
YEAR OF THE CROW's aggressive and progressive musical brew is accompanied by lyrics that prompt listeners to dig deeper.
"The ultimate goal of State Radio is to have people consider what I'm saying as they enjoy the music," STOKES points out. "I'm not looking to alienate anyone, but I hope I can enlighten some people."
Fans have combed Wikipedia about song topics ("Unfortunates") to educate themselves about cases like the West Memphis Three where justice has clearly faltered. Whether it's the genocide in Darfur, which is told through the eyes of a young boy on the alluring, rhythmic "Sudan," or the explosive, edgy, reggae-laden "C.I.A." it is impossible not to be moved by the sounds emanating from STATE RADIO.
STOKES was first known as the voice behind agit-prop outfit Dispatch, a band that sold a massive 600,000 albums by word of mouth. The group reunited this summer for an epic three-night, sold-out stand at Madison Square Garden in NY, from which the group donated all profits for the plight in Zimbabwe. As background, when he was 18 years old, STOKES lived in Zimbabwe and the experience not only galvanized his songs, but it also shaped his life with a commitment to give back, raise issues and speak on the behalf of others that cannot.
STATE RADIO thrives by living and giving as charitable men who play outstanding live shows and have developed a following from the ground up. Unconcerned with major label deals and radio exposure, STOKES is a unique fixture who defies music industry traditions. He's also proof through his efforts with Dispatch, his forthcoming TV series "How's Your News?"--created with Matt Stone and Trey Parker of "South Park" fame--as well as STATE RADIO, that a loyal and engaged cult following is arguably the best of all business models.

Toryn Green of Fuel to perform for NASCAR fans

On Sunday, Nov. 18, at Homestead-Miami Speedway, fuel will be propelling the cars of the world’s most elite NASCAR drivers during Ford Championship Weekend….But only after the lead singer of Fuel ignites the patriotism of a full house of NASCAR fans.

Homestead-Miami Speedway today announced that Toryn Green of rock band Fuel will perform the national anthem prior to Ford Championship Weekend’s Ford 400 race (Sunday, 3:30 p.m., ABC-TV)—the final race in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup.

“Toryn’s A-list performance talent goes hand-in-hand with NASCAR’s series-crowning event: Ford Championship Weekend,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Curtis Gray. “We’re honored to have him kick off the 2007 NEXTEL Cup finale.”

“I’m excited to not only be singing our national anthem in front of a full house of NASCAR fans, but to be there at Homestead-Miami for the Ford 400 to see who takes home the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Championship!” Green said. “It really is an honor.”

Since bursting on the scene with their full-length debut “Sunburn” (1998), Fuel has sold more than 3.5 million albums while touring worldwide—both headlining as well as opening for bands including Aerosmith, Kid Rock and Creed. The multi-platinum musicians have to their credit Top 5 singles “Shimmer,” “Innocent” and “Hemorrhage (In My Hands),” the latter of which sat No. 1 on the charts for 12 straight weeks. And with the Oct. 23 release of the new single “Gone”—off of Epic Records’ “Angels and Devils”— that trend is likely to continue. “Angels and Devils” represents Fuel’s first release featuring new frontman Green, selected from a pool of thousands who auditioned to replace the band’s former lead singer.

During the audition process, band members Carl Bell and Jeff Abercrombie were “floored” to hear Green’s multi-octave “epic voice” on modern-rock Fuel hits—a vocal impression Green looks forward to leaving on 70,000 fans filling the seats during Ford Championship Weekend.

TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE for Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway's 1.5-mile oval Nov. 16-18, as the NEXTEL Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck Series all crown champions under the lights. For NASCAR tickets, please call (866) 409-RACE or CLICK HERE.

Fuel supports the U.S. DOT-NHTSA-NASCAR traffic safety alliance and the “BUCKLE UP AMERICA” (BUA) campaign, which encourages race fans to take the same approach to auto safety that NASCAR drivers follow on the track: Buckle Up, Every Trip, Every Time. For more information on the band, please visit www.fuelweb.com .

Iron Maiden to take on the Forum in February

IRON MAIDEN announce a one off show at the Los Angeles Forum on Tuesday February 19th as part of the first leg of the ‘SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR 2008’. The band will fly in especially for this one show from Tokyo two days before and depart for Mexico the day after on a specially commissioned and customized Boeing 757, flown by Astraeus Airline Captain and Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The 757, decked out in Maiden and Eddie artwork, will carry the band, road crew and other personnel of around 70 people plus over 12 tons of equipment.
This first leg of the ‘SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR’ opens in Mumbai India on February 1st, and continues through Australia and Japan before arriving in LA. The entourage then fly to Mexico and into Latin America for the band’s first ever concerts in Costa Rica and Columbia, and on to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rica and New York, before finishing in Toronto, Canada, on March 16th. Over the 45 day period it is anticipated that Maiden will play to well over 400,000 fans in 21 cities in 10 countries, flying close to 50,000 miles in the specially refitted plane (full schedule below).
Comments Bruce Dickinson, “I have been flying commercial passenger jets for Astraeus Airlines for a few years now and we are commissioning an Astraeus Boeing 757. It will go in for overhaul, painting and conversion in November which will then give us time to ensure we have all the necessary safety documentation, especially with regard to fire safety. It also means it could possibly be flying commercial air routes decked out in Maiden colours for a couple of months before we start!
“Looking at the list of places we would like to play we have always had problems joining up the dots. With sea containers in various places it slows down the whole touring process, which is fine if you want a holiday but not if you want to play. It’s great to see places but we don’t want to sit around for a week waiting for gear to get from, say Australia to South America, so this way we can get to more fans in more places en route in the same time period”
To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic ‘LIVE AFTER DEATH’ concert video this tour, aptly entitled ‘SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME’, will revisit the band’s history by focusing almost entirely on the 80’s in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian Production of the 1984-85 ‘Powerslave Tour’. This will arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the band have ever presented, and will include some key elements of their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie.
Steve Harris comments; “The last time we played California was the Verizon last October and it was a fantastic gig, sold out well in advance so the fans were well up for it. It was as good a crowd reaction as we have ever had in LA. It was also our last show on that US Tour and really ended up a night to remember. It will certainly be the first time we have played LA by flying in, doing the show and flying straight out again – we usually like to hang around there for a few days!! We will have to make up for it next time!!
“l always loved the Powerslave show which I think was arguably our most spectacular ever, so bringing it back to LA – where we originally filmed the show at Long Beach Arena for our ‘Live After Death’ video - has got to be special and we are very much looking forward to it”.
The Iron Maiden fan club have arranged an exclusive first access pre-sale for members to buy Tickets to the show on Tuesday November 6th, before tickets go on sale to the public on 10th November. To allow fans to be right up close to the band, the fan club will also be running a special draw whereby 60 winners and friend at each show will be given first access to the venue enabling them to be first to the stage barrier.
Full details can be found on www.ironmaiden.com.

Salyer offers fans Halloween treat

The live video clip for Slayer's 2007 Grammy-winning track, "Eyes Of The Insane," from the "Unholy Alliance Tour DVD," will be LIVE on MySpace TV beginning Wednesday, October 31 - HALLOWEEN - at 12MIDNIGHT PT/3:00AM ET.
You can watch it here:
http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=21113343

The "Unholy Alliance Tour DVD" is in stores October 30. The 90-minute program features this year's Unholy Alliance Tour line up, which was hailed as "the heaviest, darkest metal tour of the summer, if not the year" - Slayer, the undisputed kings of speed metal/thrash, and the "future of heavy metal contenders" - Lamb of God, Mastodon, Children of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed.
The "Unholy Alliance Tour" DVD/CD was shot at Vancouver's General Motors Place on July 13, 2006, was directed by Adam Rothlein (Speedway Films), and boasts performance footage plus bonus material to include backstage, behind-the-scenes and one-on-one interviews, many of which were conducted by the Unholy Alliance artists themselves.
Slayer's "Eyes of the Insane," which took home a Grammy Award this year, is included on the DVD. Other selections on the DVD include Lamb of God's "Vigil," Mastodon's "Blood & Thunder," "Capillarian Crest," and "Crystal Skull," Children of Bodom's "Angels Don't Kill" and "In Your Face," and Slayer's "Angel of Death," "Dead Skin Mask," "South of Heaven," and "Antichrist," among many others.
The Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching To The Perverted garnered terrific press last summer -
"It's so metal, it HURTS - KKKKK (Kerrang!), "Effin' brutal!" (OC Weekly), "...stomps, rages and screams..." (Los Angeles Times, "...a show no metalhead should miss..." (Harder Beat), and "...the alliance itself proved mighty" (Worcester Telegram & Gazette).

Joyce Pierce of The Fifth Dimension release solo effort

Nearly 20 years after her vocal debut with the multi-Grammy winning group The Fifth Dimension, Joyce Pierce brings her talents to the forefront with her debut solo release, 24/7 Intimate Praise. Joyce Pierce toured the world for 43 weeks a year as a vocalist with The Fifth Dimension.
The group's hits "Up, Up and Away" and "Age of Aquarius" earned them multiple Grammy awards while performing for the world's most prestigious audiences including President Ronald Reagan, The U.S. Press Corp and international audiences on The Johnny Carson Show, Merv Griffin and Solid Gold. The grueling schedule of the group had finally taken it's toll on Pierce as she turned to her faith for strength, it was then that she discovered her inner desires to help spread a positive message of hope and inspiration through her music.
Pierce recollects, "After a show at Trump Palace with The Fifth Dimension, I was watching Phil Driscoll and realized the power and anointing in what he was doing and how it helped other people."
It was that overwhelming combination of musical and inspirational power which eventually led her in the same direction. 2007 brings about a new phase in Pierce's already colorful life as she releases her debut Christian crossover CD - 24/7 Intimate Praise. Pierce teamed up with prominent Houston producer/engineer, Dan Workman (Beyonce, Destiny's Child, ZZ Top) to put together this collection of inspirational songs of worship.
"Joyce Pierce is one of the most generous artists that I have ever met. Each time we were together, the room was filled with her positive spirit. That energy, combined with a strong vision for her music, made my work effortless," says Workman upon completion of the project.
Already in heavy rotation at Austin's KAZI, DJ Curt Childers says "Joyce Pierce's new CD is a testimony of faith and a great display of her new level of confidence in her music. For all who listen, the album is as diverse and enlightening as the message that it sends - one of peace, hope, faith and love. Music fans of all styles will surely enjoy this seamless blend of Pop, R&B and Contemporary Gospel.
24/7 Intimate Praise is now available through CD Baby.com and Outbound Music.

Pierce the Veil to tour with Chiodos and From First to Last

PIERCE THE VEIL
On the Road with Chiodos
Supporting Release of Debut A Flair for the Dramatic
Tour with From First to Last For Mid-November

Freshly back from a tour across the United Kingdom with The Blackout, Equal Vision recording artist Pierce The Veil are continuing their trek with labelmates (and fellow Reybee Production clients) Chiodos in support of their recently released debut A Flair for the Dramatic.

Having built a solid fan base in the underground SoCal music scene that birthed blink-182, Pinback, As I Lay Dying, and Thrice, among countless others, Pierce The Veil has been making waves into the mainstream with their unique brand of melody and artistic rhythm found on their debut album, A Flair For The Dramatic. With solid critical acclaim from Alternative Press ("Buoyed by shape-shifting, vicious rock underpinnings, Pierce the Veil effortlessly infuse everything from acoustics to electronics in the new assault") to Suburban Horror ("...what every fan wants to hear and what every band wishes they sounded like") to Metal Hammer ("... a well thought-out and effectively executed debut"), Pierce the Veil are prepared to launch their next strike on the road this Fall, constructing upwards from previous tour stints with peers such as Portugal the Man, Poison the Well, Alesana, and Fear Before The March of Flames among others.

Pierce The Veil’s unusual song structures provide the foundation for complex guitar lines and contrasting beautiful / abrasive vocals to mingle and form each and every memorable hook. The undeniable sonic connection between brothers Victor and Michael Fuentes (guitar/vocals and percussion, respectively) jumps out of the crisp-sounding album, which was produced by the up-and-coming producer Casey Bates (Chiodos,Fear Before The March of Flames, Portugal The Man) at his suburban Seattle studios.

Silverchair garners five ARIA Awards

Silverchair swept the 2007 ARIA Awards in Sydney last night. They won five ARIA's - more than any other artist this year. Most significantly the band took out the prestigious Album Of The Year award for their acclaimed Young Modern. While they've had five chart topping albums over their career this was actually the first time that any Silverchair release has received that honor.

They received the following awards:
Album Of The Year
Best Group
Single Of The Year
Best Rock Album
Highest Selling Single

This extraordinary achievement makes Silverchair the most successful artist in the entire history of the ARIA Awards. Last night's haul took the band's career tally to 19 eclipsing John Farnham's previous record of 18 career gongs. Silverchair opened the Awards telecast with a memorable performance of "Straight Lines" and set the tone for a very special night that cemented Silverchair in their rightful place as one of the most acclaimed and successful bands in Australian music history

The ARIA's capped the busiest few months of the band's entire career. They have toured non-stop over the last 16 weeks racking up nearly 60 shows around the world including international festival appearances and their hugely successful "Across The Great Divide" tour with co-headliners, Powderfinger. Those shows came to an end on Friday night in Silverchair's home town of Newcastle.

Petco launches effort to aid animals affected by California fires

Through the PETCO Foundation’s Emergency Round Up Fundraiser , pet lovers across the nation have donated nearly $140,000 to benefit the more than 19,000 animals affected by the California wildfires.

The 10-day program, effective Oct. 24 through Nov. 3, is a nationwide opportunity for PETCO customers to “round up” their purchases to the next highest dollar as a contribution to the Foundation. All donations will go toward the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to aid animals affected by the fires and other incidents.

PETCO and its vendors, along with the PETCO Foundation have provided products valued at more than $300,000 to evacuation centers and animal welfare groups throughout Southern California and continue to support relief efforts.

Stories of that support and a video highlighting PETCO’s and the Foundation’s efforts is now available on the company’s blog, PETCONews.com , where animal lovers can get the latest news on anything and everything PETCO – from updates about the company to incredible acts of animal kindness.

Otep album released today

OTEP are currently gearing up for the October 30 release of their long-awaited new album, The_Ascension. The band enlisted producer Dave Fortman (Mudvayne, Evanescence) for The_Ascension, and also called on Grammy nominated guitarist Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne, HELLYEAH) to co-write three songs. OTEP are currently working on the videos for two songs from the album, “Confrontation” and “Breed,” to be directed by P.R. Brown (Smashing Pumpkins, James Blunt).

October 30 also marks the start of the BALLS VOLUME STRENGTH Tour. OTEP will be performing alongside HELLYEAH and bloodsimple to support The_Ascension. The tour kicks off in Detroit, MI at The Fillmore and wraps up on December 7 at The Palladium in Worcester, MA.

With the release of The_Ascension, their third full-length outing, OTEP challenged themselves to avoid clichés and classifications and find a new landscape of sound and vision. On The_Ascension Otep is both inciteful and insightful, with songs ranging from the aggro call to arms of “Confrontation” to the vulnerable ‘Perfectly Flawed.’ The_Ascension is infused with a meticulous care to detail, the CD’s 13 songs both free and freeing for the listener and the band. In their career, OTEP have sold over 400,000 units.

Here’s what the press has to say about The_Ascension:

“…Otep Shamaya is hot and her guttural scream rivals Slipknot’s Corey Taylor…[The rest of the band’s] pummeling power chords and break-neck speed-drumming are the icing on this pissed off cake.” – Penthouse

“[One of the] People You Should Know About” – CNN.com

“When you’re mad at the world and need a soundtrack, Otep’s latest is here for the taking.” – Outburn

“…eloquent and necessary…” – Alternative Press

“…their most inspired effort to date…The_Ascension finds the band in top form and showing levels of musical growth…” – Metal Edge

More about the line-up:

PLUGZ
Tito Larriva, Barry McBride & Charlie Quintana will reunite for the first time since 1982 to perform the Electrify Me album in its entirety. This classic recording was the first full-length studio album to be self-produced and self-released by any band from the local ’77 punk scene.

THE EYES
The Eyes (with Charlotte Caffey of the Go Go’s, DJ Bonebrake of X and The Knitters, and Joe Ramirez of Black Randy & the Metro Squad) are one of the original pop-punkers to play the Masque. The Eyes were an awesome “power trio” who beautifully belied the myth that punks down there didn’t know how to play their instruments.

SKULLS
Billy Bones and his new band of young 'uns convene an open jam for all living alumni from the beginning of the band [Fall of 1977] to the present. Expect all the early hits and a few deranged covers: Victims, Incomplete Suicide, Kill Me, Kill Me, Building Models, On Target, etc.

THE DEADBEATS
Scott Guerin founder of the Deadbeats, probably the world's first “jazz-punk” group and a Masque regular reforms the band for the first time since the early 80s. Known for elaborate stage outfits and theatrical props as much as dark, murderous lyrics, the Deadbeats boasted real musicians; cool guys with serious chops who never overplayed, the Deadbeats will pay tribute to Scott's late brother Shawn Guerin, the band's original astounding drummer. Best known for Kill the Hippies, Final Ride and Maria Maria (I Just Shot a Girl Named Maria). Hopefully, Geza X will also join in on guitar.

CONTROLLERS
Along with the Skulls, the Michigan-transplanted Controllers played the Masque the most where they attracted the attention of NY-transplanted Fluxus artist Al Hansen who managed them from late '77 into 79. Stingray will hopefully throw in a few numbers by his other band Kaos. I begged him for Iron Dream, at least.

Epitaph signs Story of the Year

EPITAPH SIGNS ALT/ROCK HEAVYWEIGHTS STORY OF THE YEAR

Band Enters Studio with John Feldmann and Elvis Baskette, Epitaph Debut Scheduled for Spring 2008

St. Louis-bred five piece Story of the Year have signed with Los Angeles-based stalwart Epitaph in what is perhaps the perfect marriage of like-minded individuals. The deal partners one of the world’s largest independent record companies, which advocates creative freedom for its recording artists, with a band known, in spite of their superstar status, for a tireless do-it-yourself work ethic and willingness to take risks and push boundaries musically.

“From my first time seeing Story of the Year light up the stage of the tiny Troubadour club like a torch, to soon thereafter seeing them light up every TV screen across America, I always regretted that I hadn’t come across them just a little sooner and perhaps have had the chance to sign them,” says Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz. “All I can say is I’m finally redeemed! This is a very big deal for Epitaph.”

Story of the Year have two previous studio releases, 2003’s Page Avenue produced by John Feldman (the Used, My Chemical Romance, Atreyu) and 2005’s In the Wake of Determination produced by Steve Evetts (Saves the Day, Senses Fail). Fueled in part by huge hit singles such as the enduringly infectious “Until the Day I Die,” combined sales of the two records number well into the millions worldwide, with gold and platinum records in the US, Japan, Canada and Australia.

"Brett Gurewitz and his team understand the music landscape in 2007,” says John Reese, the band’s manager. “While major labels are on the panic trail, Epitaph is coming up with great new ideas to help artists reach their fans and make new ones as well. We are excited to release Story of The Year's music with the support of Brett and his team."

Story of the Year’s Epitaph debut will be further highlighted by a reunion of sorts, as original partner-in-crime/producer John Feldmann returns to the helm on a number of songs. In addition, the band will spend time with Elvis Baskette (Chevelle, Escape the Fate), completing the record on the Virginian coast.

Known for their kinetic live shows and ridiculously catchy songs, Story of the Year have always been famously ballsy in their mixing of glossy production, big rock hooks and honeyed melodies with searing metal riffs and intense screaming. The band has garnered a passionate and loyal following, thanks in large part to lead singer Dan Marsala’s signature vocal style and heartfelt lyrics. Story of the Year have toured extensively, headlining massive festival tours such as the Vans Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos, and holding their own indoors with other rock heavyweights such as My Chemical Romance, the Used and Linkin Park.

The wait is over. Story of the Year’s highly anticipated Epitaph debut is scheduled for spring 2008. Expect exhaustive touring in support of their new record.

Story of the Year are:
Dan Marsala - vocals
Ryan Phillips – guitar
Philip Sneed – guitar
Adam Russell – bass
Josh Wills - drums

Belay My Last to hit the road in November

BELAY MY LAST - TOUR W/ AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK, WALLS OF JERICHO, THE WARRIORS & BORN OF OSIRIS!!!

www.myspace.com/belaymylast
www.mediaskare.com

Check out Belay My Last on tour with As Blood Runs Black, Walls of Jericho, The Warriors, & Born of Osiris this winter in support of their recently released debut album, The Downfall. This album includes thirteen original tracks and over fifty minutes of some of the most adept metal tracks to decimate the scene today. The Downfall also includes a music video along with tour and studio footage as an added fringe benefit.

Belay My Last’s songs are an impeccable fusion of brutal and melodic harmonies that leave you invariably questioning what’s next to come. The musical content of this album is unparalleled and will entice any fan of amply composed music. The idea behind the creation of their music was to compose music that is very heavy but extremely interesting at the same time, pushing boundaries in every aspect.

Belay My Last are no rookies to the road, having toured with the likes of Necrophagist, Cattle Decapitation, and The Faceless, all prior to the release of their debut album. Their unhinged live shows match the album’s intensity flawlessly. Members have been hospitalized on many occasions due to the raucous stage antics. “We believe that when you go to a show, what you see is as important as what you hear”, explains bassist Garrett Harer. Belay My Last is no band you would want to miss out on.
