Andaz West Hollywood to open rooftop club

The Andaz West Hollywood (formerly the Hyatt West Hollywood) and the German American Business Association (GABA) have teamed up to start a new trend in Hollywood. With the new rooftop club opening on May 14, 2009 in the Panorama ballroom of the newly opened Andaz, professionals will be invited from the local businesses, including fashion, music, film, and automotive industries to enjoy live rock and blues music. This networking event will give brands the opportunity to promote new ideas and products to their peers.

The rock and blues mixer will establish a new trend for 25+ business professionals, providing a slick and modern environment in one of West Hollywood’s most famous “rock and roll” hotels. With events being held every two to three months, a variety of local, European, and Australasian musicians and artists will be able to exhibit their talents to the group.

The series of events begins on May 14 at 7:00PM with an exhibition of photography from Olaf Heine. He is one of the most innovative and in-demand portrait photographers working today. With a portfolio that includes musicians, actors, athletes, writers and icons, Olaf has worked with such notables as Sting and Selma Hayek. You can also see his artwork on record covers and in magazines. Iggy Pop remarked that the German photographer “is blessed with a clear and inescapable German eye.”

Music for the opening night will be provided by Steve Cooke, supported by new talent and some special celebrity guests. Steve has performed internationally for numerous celebrities such as the Prince of Wales and Heidi Klum. He is gaining popularity in and around Hollywood and is currently recording an album with Madonna’s guitarist Monte Pitman at the infamous Hollywood Sound Studio (which has also recorded the likes of bands such as Earth, Wind, and Fire). For the Hollywood locals, his latest songs have just been added to KIIS FM.
