Aerosmith to perform entire "Toys in the Attic" album on tour

During their current North American summer tour, AEROSMITH -- America’s Greatest Rock ‘N Roll Band who’ve sold over 150 million albums, won four Grammys and been inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame -- is performing their classic TOYS IN THE ATTIC album live from front to back, along with an array of Aerosmith hits. This marks the first time ever that the band has played the 8-million-plus-selling 1975 disc in its entirety. The influential TOYS… has inspired many musicians, including REM, who covered the song on 1987’s Dead Letter Office. In addition, a copy of the album was one of two AEROSMITH albums that astronaut pilot Mark E. Kelly took with him on board the Space Shuttle Discovery on a 13-day, 8.5 million-kilometer trip to the International Space Station in July 2006.

The massive AEROSMITH tour -- presented by Guitar Hero: Aerosmith -- will visit the Los Angeles-area for two blistering shows: August 21st at Staples Center and August 23rd at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Special Guest ZZ Top will join them both nights. Tickets are on sale now at LiveNation.com and at Live Nation charge-by-phone (877.598.6671).

TOYS… features the hits and AEROSMITH concert staples “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion” and the LP was featured on Rolling Stone’s list of the “Greatest Albums Of All Time.” Writing about TOYS IN THE ATTIC in the November 1, 2003 Rolling Stone feature, the magazine said: “This is where Aerosmith perfected their raunchy blues-rock sound, with guitarist Joe Perry laying down some of the Seventies' most indelible riffs on ‘Walk This Way’ and ‘Sweet Emotion,’ and Steven Tyler stepping up with an album full of unforgettable songs about his favorite topic: sex.”

The highly-anticipated tour kicked off June 10th in St. Louis. The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch said, “Boston’s bad boys definitely delivered… [It was] a rip-roaring presentation.” Special guests ZZ Top join the trek on June 21st.

AEROSMITH made history last year when Activision released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, marking the first music-based game built around the legendary music of Aerosmith. The groundbreaking partnership united “America's greatest hard rock act” (as described by Mojo editor Phil Alexander in a May '07 cover story) with the massively successful videogame franchise; sales exploded and broke records, with AEROSMITH reaching another generation of fans.
