Bedouin Soundclash at the Roxy July 29 before tour with No Doubt

Toronto-based BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH is getting ready to embark on a North American summer tour—including dates opening for No Doubt—and will be in Los Angeles for a headline show at The Roxy on Wednesday, July 29.

The JUNO-award winning group has forged their own musical path by creating a sound that embodies each member’s personal and diverse preferences-- an innovative fusion of reggae, rock, punk and soul. Formed in 2001, the band has shared the stage with Ben Harper, Damian Marley, The Roots, Gogol Bordello and Thievery Corporation among many others.

BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH — duo Jay Malinowski (vocals, guitar) and Eon Sinclair (bass) — are also at work on their next studio album, due in early 2010 and will release the digital EP Where Have The Songs Played Gone To? (Sideone Dummy) tomorrow, June 16. The EP includes B-sides from their last studio album Street Gospels and one new song, “On My Block.”

Street Gospels was released August 2007 and produced by legendary punk-reggae bass player Darryl Jenifer (Bad Brains). The album features “1259 Lullaby” which appeared on “Grey’s Anatomy,” the infectious first single “Walls Fall Down” and “Until We Burn In the Sun” which is nominated for three Much Music Video Awards this year. The album has since gone gold in Canada.
