Pasadena Museum of History to offer holiday fun event

What’s better than a holiday? Even more holidays! Children will discover and enjoy traditional games, crafts and activities related to special days celebrated in various cultures on Wednesday morning, July 1, 9-11:30 am at Pasadena Museum of History, 470 W. Walnut St., Pasadena (corner Walnut St. and Orange Grove Blvd.).

“Family Holidays from Many Cultures” will introduce young visitors to Chinese New Year, Latin American Dia de los Muertos and Armenian Vardavar, among others. Participants will take home a calendar filled with holidays to celebrate at home all year long.

This is the first event in Pasadena Museum of History’s popular summer program, Peek at Family History, for children 4 through 8 years old and accompanying adults. On subsequent Wednesday mornings in July kids will explore textiles and clothing (July 8), photos (July 15), family trees/relationships (July 22) and world cuisine/family recipes (July 29). The program is sponsored in part by the California Council for the Humanities and is produced with assistance from the Museum's interns and youth volunteers, including Tick-Tockers from the San Marino Chapter of the National Charity League.

Tickets: Free. Due to limited space advanced reservations are required; please call 626-577.1660, ext. 10. For additional information, please visit www.pasadenahistory.org.
