Room 13 exhibit Saturday in Highland Park

Light Bringer Project Invites you to the Joint Exhibit of Student-Run Room 13 Art Studios at Judson Gallery in Highland Park
This Saturday Night!

Unique exhibit asks
“How Old Do You Have to be to be an Artist?”

SATURDAY, MARCH 13TH, 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Students of ROOM 13, an international network of student-operated art studios will show work at The Judson Studios Gallery as part of NELA (Northeast L.A.) Art Night. Three ROOM 13 studios, including the Foshay Learning Center in South Los Angeles, Eliot Middle School in Altadena, and Marjorie in South Bay, will showcase paintings, drawings, sculptures, mixed media, assemblage, mural art and animation at this collaborative art installation.

Room 13 originated in Caol, Scotland in 1994 and has grown into an international network of student and adult collaborations - designing and operating their own creative studios. It now provides learning and business enterprise skills to students in 60 Studios around the world – from Scotland, to India and South Africa to Austria. There are 30 more studios slated to be opened by the end of next year.

Hernan Robles, a student at The Foshay Learning Center, has been inspired by what he has witnessed in ROOM 13: “… I am in High School- and I go into Room 13 and see the art and I can’t believe this is from middle school students, it shows what they are capable of.”
