Vote for your favorite freecreditscore.com band

Twelve bands have advanced to the next round in the nationwide search for the freecreditscore.com band. During the month-long coast-to-coast band search, over 100 bands performed in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Bands from all musical genres impressed judges with their originality and musicianship while performing freecreditscore.com songs on stage at historic musical venues including: The Gramercy Theatre, House of Blues and The Hollywood Palladium.

The 12 Semi-finalists will move on to the next round of competition and have a chance to win a $10,000 check, an exclusive Gibson Guitar prize package and a Pearl drum kit valued at $12,000, a studio session with music industry veterans, and will walk the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and perform on the 2010 VMA Tour.

“The caliber of talent that we saw in each city was incredible. It’s refreshing to see how so many different bands have taken the basic lyrics and music we provided and made the songs their own. Anticipation is building as voting opens nationwide to determine who will advance to the final round in the search for the freecreditscore.com band,” said Chris Moloney, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the U.S. Consumer Direct business unit of Experian.

As freecreditscore.com increases its consumer focus on providing free credit scores, the Website has set its sights on finding a new band to represent the brand and is giving talent from anywhere in the country a chance to participate in the search.

Now that the regional search events are complete, bands from anywhere in the country can submit a video in which they (up to five members) perform one of the freecreditscore.com songs posted on the Website. America will vote through an online tracker on the Semi-finalists narrowing it down to four Finalists and then to one winning band. The search is open to bands with members 21 years of age or older, in any genre from country to blues to hip-hop and indie rock. Bands can find freecreditscore.com songs, lyrics and guidelines and upload their video entries at http://www.freecreditscoreband.com.

The four Finalists will receive national media exposure in commercials on the FOX broadcast of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, as well as a prize package from musical instrument leader Gibson Guitar. The three runners-up will each receive a $7,500 check to be divided among band members.

Consumers can log in to www.freecreditscoreband.com until Aug. 9th to vote for their favorite band and they can enter the Sweepstakes to win one of four Epiphone Casio guitars valued at $1,000 each.

In an effort to promote personal financial and credit literacy, freecreditscore.com provides consumers with instant access to their free credit score when they enroll in Triple Advantage® credit monitoring. The company also offers a credit score tracker, access to a fraud resolution agent if needed and other valuable tools that are included in monthly membership.
