"Inception" soundtrack limited edition released

Warner Bros. Records will release a limited-edition clear-vinyl pressing of Inception: Music From the Motion Picture, which will go on-sale at www.becausesoundmatters.com on Tuesday, October 12th. Only 1,000 pieces will be available. The vinyl is also for sale on Warner Bros. Records’ webstore: http://store.warnerbrosrecordsstore.com/.

The score will be the focus of Because Sound Matters’ weekly "Friday Vinyl Lunch," which will stream the album live at 1:00 p.m. PST on October 15th at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/because-sound-matters.

Inception: Music From The Motion Picture is Oscar®-winning film composer Hans Zimmer’s dramatic score to the blockbuster sci-fi actioner Inception, which was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan. Zimmer is one of the film industry’s most respected and sought-after composers with a career that encompasses more than 100 film scores. He previously collaborated with Christopher Nolan on the films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. An Academy Award® winner for his score for The Lion King, Zimmer has also received seven additional Oscar® nominations for his work on Sherlock Holmes, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, Rain Man, As Good as It Gets, The Preacher’s Wife and The Prince of Egypt. Among his many honors, Zimmer has also won two Golden Globes and three Grammy Awards.

Zimmer will appear at a very special GRAMMY Museum event on October 27th. The GRAMMY Museum will host Zimmer for an onstage interview about his career and recent work on Inception. “American Express Presents An Evening With Hans Zimmer” will take place at 8 p.m. in the Museum’s Clive Davis Theater, on the second floor of The GRAMMY Museum.

Inception: Music From The Motion Picture was produced by Zimmer, Lorne Balfe, Christopher Nolan, and Alex Gibson. Guitarist Johnny Marr (The Smiths, Modest Mouse, The Cribs) performs on eight of the tracks.
