Mr. Collipark to release free mixtape

On Wednesday, March 2nd BMI Songwriter of the Year and Grammy Nominated producer DJ Smurf aka Mr. Collipark will release his free digital mixtape, CAN I HAVE THE CLUB BACK, PLEASE?. All songs on the compilation are produced by Mr. Collipark.

“I wanted to create one project that combines young and veteran artists to revitalize the club music that I made popular,” stated Collipark.

Mr. Collipark signed Ying Yang Twins to his Collipark Music independent label in the late Nineties. They recorded the hit “Whistle While You Twurk” in 1999 that placed Ying Yang on the national radar. The album Thug Walkin’ followed in 2000. The first single from Ying Yang’s E1 One distributed sophomore album “Say I Yi Yi” promptly blew up across the nation. Another hit “By Myself” pushed Alley...Return of the Ying Yang Twins to over 500,000 units sold.

In 2003, he signed Ying Yang to TVT Records through his Collipark Music production company lessened the stress of running an indie label and allowed him to focus on production. Ying Yang’s third album Me & My Brother and fourth album U.S.A. both went on to be certified platinum.
The Mr. Collipark-produced Ying Yang Twins’ Grammy-nominated single “Wait (The Whisper Song)” put him on the mainstream map and garnered national attention.

Besides all his production with Ying Yang, he executive produced Hurricane Chris’ debut album and the anthem “A Bay Bay”. His label venture with Interscope Records spawned platinum rapper, Soulja Boy. Soulja Boy massive hit “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” went on set ringtone records for Interscope and the music industry at large.
