Dave Morrison at Caltech Oct. 8

Hey Y'all,

I'm back from Texas, and ready to rock. Acoustically of course.

This is just a reminder that we will be at Caltech in Pasadena, Saturday night Oct. 8. With the great Chicago Duo, Small Potatoes. It's gonna be great. I swear that by all that is holy!!!

And speaking of holy ... it has come to my attention that Saturday begins YOM KIPPUR, the day of atonement for our Jewish pals. And fasting too, they tell me. So, this is apparently reason enough to stay home. You know, I can point you out and make you feel guilty. It's no trouble. I can even stand between you and the delicious treats available in the lobby at intermission (the better to fastify you). I'm just sayin' ...

But that's another story. I wrote to say this: It has also come to my attention that Beckman Auditorium and Beckman Institute Auditorium, are two different things. I guess at the university arguably more up-to-it's-ass in geniuses than anyplace this side of M.I.T., it never occurred to them to give one of the auditoriums a name not including "Beckman". That threw 'em over there in the department of auditorium nomenclature. I guess they were so busy with some obscure Feynman proof that they just called 'em both more or less the same thing. So go to the one we are in. The one with "Institute" in it's name.

I asked our host, Nick Smith, what I should tell you all about finding the place without wandering all over campus first. He's a clear communicator, so I will just copy/paste him here for you.

The simplest way to direct them for parking is to go south on Michigan from Del Mar, and park in the lots on either side. The big round building they see is the big Beckman Auditorium. Beckman Institute Auditorium is at the other end of the reflecting pool. We will have signs up, but that’s a good landmark. Also, if they are using any kind of GPS navigation, have them enter 332 S. Michigan Ave, Pasadena Ca. This will take them right to the ticket office next to the parking.

Here's a Google link that will give you a swell map of campus, with an arrow right where you come in off the street.

So ... thanks to all of you who have bought tickets or otherwise threatened to make an appearance. You are greatly appreciated, and I look forward to seeing your glistening faces up close.
