Gary Go album out Jan. 11

2011 was the year that put Gary Go on dance music’s radar. The quirky and introspective pop artist was suddenly thrust to the forefront of the scene upon collaborating with mega-producer and hit maker Benny Benassi, writing and performing the chart-topping dance club anthem “Cinema.” After enjoying a GRAMMY-nominated remix from Skrillex and being front and center in Benassi’s video for “Close to Me”, Gary Go toured the globe as the face and voice of dance music. But that was last year. Now that 2012 is upon us, Gary is stepping into the spotlight on his own with his new album “Now Was Once The Future.”

“Now Was Once The Future” gets released on January 11th and further showcases Gary’s talents as a songwriter, vocalist and producer. The new mini-concept album tells the story of the aftermath of a breakup, chronicling the moment when someone you love leaves you. His first single, a new interpretation of “Cinema”, transforms the dance hall anthem into a spaced out electronic ballad. In conjunction with the announcement of the NWOTFrelease date, Gary is releasing a new single “Our Love is on the Line.” Gary’s spirited and soulful vocals take center stage on the funk and soul-influenced track. It is a pop gem that is as catchy as it is riveting.

NWOTF features a stellar group of musicians including drummer Deantoni Parks (Meshell N’Degeocello / Mars Volta), violinist Davide Rossi (Coldplay / Goldfrapp), Memphis Horns (Elvis Presley / Al Green) and mixer Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros / M83 / Moby). The album was produced by Gary Go at his own The Whipping Club studios and features artwork by world-traveling graphic designer Kaonashi.
