Knott’s Berry Farm and KJLH Radio have teamed up again to present a fantastic concert for the 12th Annual Gospel Showcase on Saturday, May 19. Gospel Showcase will be held exclusively this year in the beautiful 2,100 seat Charles Schulz Theater. Concert times will be 12:00 noon to 4 pm and 6 pm to 10 pm and will include performances by Ricky Dillard and the New G Choir and Shekinah Glory Ministry. Park admission and a wristband are required for entrance into the concerts and will be available at Knott’s Main Gate as well at Knott’s Western Ave entrance.
Rick Dillard and the New G Choir earned a Grammy nomination with their first album “The Promise” in 1991. The next year the choir was featured in Steve Martin’s movie “Leap of Faith” and by the time their second live album “A Holy Ghost Take Over” debuted in 1993, Dillard was a consultant on Whoopie Goldberg’s “Sister Act II.” Ricky Dillard and the New G Choir’s most recent album “Keep Living” (2011) was recorded during a filled to capacity concert in Detroit, Michigan.
Shekinah Glory is an impact ministry team that has been preaching, teaching, and entertaining throughout the U.S. and internationally since 1978. Shekinah Glory Ministry has visited 18 nations and is broadcast on radio and satellite stations around the world.
Gospel Showcase at Knott’s offers a full day of family fun. In addition to the stellar performances, guests can also take in some of Knott’s awe-inspiring thrill rides including Silver Bullet, Xcelerator, Supreme Scream, and the new WindSeeker. The younger set always enjoys a visit to Camp Snoopy where they can visit their favorite beagle and take one of the many rides designed specifically for them.
Tickets are available online at www.knotts.com for just $36.99 for regular admission and $26.99 for juniors (ages 3-11) and seniors (62+). For information on group tickets (15 or more), call Knott’s Group Sales at (714) 220-5211.
