Theatre 360 announces upcoming Master Classes and Workshops for the Community!

Audition Workshop

Saturday, May 12th 2:30-5:30 pm

Ages 6 to 19



Take advantage of this unique and exciting opportunity to participate in a three hour Song Preparation workshop with Devon Yates, co-founder and the Executive/Artistic Director of Theatre 360. Devon and Johnna Allen (Musical Director and staff vocal teacher) will work with students to rehearse songs with accompaniment, working on vocal styling’s, performance skills and confidence to be ready for your next audition!

Devon Yates is the co-founder and the Executive/Artistic Director of Theatre 360. An accomplished vocalist, actress and dancer, she has been performing professionally since age nine. Devon is a two-time nominee for the Kennedy Center's Irene Ryan Achievement Award in Performing Arts. As a dancer and choreographer Devon has been working since age sixteen, when she was asked to develop the tap and jazz program for the California Ballet Dance Company, and then continued to choreograph new works for the company. During her education at San Diego State University, she developed a series of master classes for the MFA musical theatre students in dance performance. Devon has also had the opportunity to work with such legendary performers and choreographers as Danny Daniels, Fayard Nicholas, Toni Kaye, George Burns and Milton Berle. Devon has worked as the choreographer on several music videos, as well as Jim Henson's Animal Jam, and the ABC series Alias. In addition to Devon's professional work in the community, she continues her artistic endeavors with Theatre 360, having directed and/or choreographed 45 shows in the past 11 years. She is thrilled to have accomplished her goal of creating a valuable children's program to encourage the love of theatre.

Meisner Master Class

Saturday, May 19th from 1:30-4:30 pm

Ages 12 to 19



Executive Producer and screenwriter Joan Rater will introduce our students to the Meisner Acting Technique. This is a rare and unique opportunity for students ages 12-19 to get a chance to study The Meisner Technique, we are thrilled to be able to offer this to our students as well as get a chance to work with Ms. Rater herself!



She will give invaluable advice, feedback and direction into using your new skills and applying them into your acting and performances. The education you will be receiving in this workshop will go a long way into your future college classes, and auditions.



The goal of the Meisner Technique: "To live truthfully under given imaginary circumstances." Past alumni of the Meisner Technique include Jeff Goldblum, Diane Keaton, Dylan McDermott, Allison Janney and Joan Rater, a student of Sanford Meisner himself.

Joan Rater has been nominated, along with the rest of the Grey’s Anatomy crew, for two Emmys in 2006 and 2007, both for “Outstanding Drama Series.” Also for the Grey’s Anatomy crew, she has won one Writers Guild of America Award for “New Series” in 2006, and has been nominated for two others in 2006 and 2007, both for “Dramatic Series.”
