LOCATION: Fullerton Library, 353 W Commonwealth Ave. Fullerton, CA 92832 Entrance fee: Members free, $10 for Non-members, $5 Students.
Southbound on the 57 freeway: Exit at Nutwood Ave and go right, turn left onto N State College Blvd. turn right onto E Commonwealth Ave. Eastbound on the 91 freeway: Exit at S. Euclid, turn left onto S. Euclid, turn right onto W. Commonwealth Ave., the library is on the north side of the street. If you’ve gone to N. Highland you’ve gone too far. Parking is free.
MORNING PROGRAM – 10:30 - NOON: “FLAMBOYANCY RISING FASHION SHOW” - LINDA SCHMIDT
Linda is a quilter and wearable artist. She comes from a long line of quilting women. Linda started her first quilt when she was eight years old, and has made hundreds of quilts since then. She has won over 250 ribbons from local, national and international quilting exhibitions. She teaches quilting nationally and internationally, doing trunk shows with both quilts and garments. Linda was a founding member of the Network for Wearable Art.
AFTERNOON PROGRAM – BETTY McCARTNEY – “MY OWN PERSONAL TEXTILE TRAMPING”
Betty, our fellow WAC member, will share her journey to Wearable Art with us. She will show us some of her finely crafted clothing. Betty is an exceptional artist.
THIS MONTH’S WORKSHOP: MAY 20-21 (2 DAY)
LINDA SCHMIDT - “WONDERFUL WEARABLE ART GARMENTS TECHNIQUES”
In this hands-on workshop, the student will experiment with a wide variety of surface design techniques such as fabric painting, burnt-edge appliqué, various types of machine appliqué, machine embroidery, hand embroidery, machine piecing, foundation piecing, use of Solvy and other disappearing mediums, fusing fabrics, etc.

COST PER DAY: $60 for members, $70 for non-members
