Marty Atkinson grew up in the fertile musical land of Southern Ontario, on bluegrass and farming. His music took him to California, Mexico and all across the southwestern United States and finally to Nashville. Katy Boyd grew up on folk music in Northern California.... ran off to the UK for Virgin Records, and ended up signing to small indy label Goldtop Recordings (Jungle Records) in London.

Marty Atkinson's former band Cactus Choir had a tangled, but passionate, affair with the major labels. For 10 years he was signed to Atlantic Records then Curb/Universal (label mates with Tim McGraw, Winona Judd, Merle Haggard. He was signed to EMI for 5 years as a songwriter.

Katy Boyd has recently been compared to Tom Waits, Janis Ian and Townes Van Zandt. She's a witty, charming singer songwriter making a name for herself on both sides of the Atlantic. He is a bluegrass picker who left his banjo in Mexico. This is southwestern rambles, lonesome love songs, spicy single mothers.... all delivered with a dash of Crosby, Stills and Nashville.

Katy's current solo album was in the top 25 of the Roots Music Report Roots Country chart for the first quarter of 2012, & in the New Music Weekly Main Country Chart for many weeks. Reviews of Katy's solo album PAPER HEARTS are amazing!

The two have teamed up to create Blue Cactus Choir - a blend of beautiful Cactus Choir harmonies and southwestern Bluegrass. Not to be missed!
