Work on display will include silks, batik, hand-woven carpets, along with more traditional textiles. In conjunction with the Museum’s current Textile Arts sponsored exhibition I Do! I Do, there will be a special presentation of items of love and marriage, such as special Zulu baskets given as lobola (part of the bride price); Zulu love letters, beaded necklaces given to the man as a token of love by the woman; wedding blankets, and more.
