Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale to tour

Critically acclaimed, Grammy-winning musicians/songwriters Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale are set to bring their energetic, widely hailed performances to the West Coast in May with dates in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The continued tour also includes appearances at the Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival in Georgia and California’s Strawberry Music Festival. Please see below for a full list of dates.

Over the last few months Buddy, Jim and their all-star band have toured the country playing to enthusiastic crowds in cities including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and D.C., and even stopped by Austin for the annual SXSW music festival where Paste called them “…the best-dressed men in Austin.” The tour is in support of their new duets record Buddy and Jim, which was recorded and produced at Buddy’s home studio in Nashville. The Austin Chronicle notes, “…the LP cuts a broad swath of Americana, the two Nashville linchpins’ close harmony duets and stellar guitar work uniting the eclecticism of styles.”

As two of Nashville’s most prolific writers and in-demand musicians, recently described by the Chicago Tribune as a “...couple of Nashville mavericks who’ve written, sang, played on or produced some of the best records of the last 25 years,” the two friends joked in an interview with The New Yorker that “…it took seventeen years to find the three days they needed to record their first album together.”

In addition to making music together, Buddy and Jim co-host a weekly SiriusXM radio show that NPR’s “Fresh Air” calls “highly entertaining.” The often irreverent and always entertaining show features performances and interviews with artists across the Americana genre and can be heard on SiriusXM Outlaw Country Channel 60 Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET. They also join forces annually for the Americana Honors and Awards show—which Jim hosts while Buddy leads the all-star band—from which both have taken home multiple wins over the years.
