California Beer Festival in San Dimas Oct. 6


The one, the only California Beer Festival returns to the Inland Empire at Frank G. Bonelli Park, 120 Via Verde, San Dimas, Saturday, October 6. The park's scenic Bolli Lake provides a beautiful setting for the event, taking place from 12:30 pm-5 pm. The $45. admission price includes a souvenir beer tasting cup to sample some of the best Craft Beers from around the state and live entertainment by 14-piece Michael Jackson tribute band, Foreverland.    California Beer Festival took place in Claremont the previous two years and now moves just seven minutes away to its new home in Bonelli Park.

*SUNFLOWER DEAD consists of Jaime Teissere (guitar, formerly of Droid), Michael Del Pizzo (vocals, piano, accordion), Jaboo (guitar) formerly of Two Hit Creeper, Luis Gascon (bass) touring member of Buckethead, and Jimmy Schultz (drums) touring drummer of In This Moment. The band formed with a goal of creating an undeniable unit that would not just move but more importantly, entertain people.

*After forming, the group went into Temple Studios (owned by Raymond Herrera of Fear Factory and B Real of Cypress Hill) with Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory) to produce their 11- track self-titled debut record, set to release on August 21, 2012 with Bloody Bat Records LLC.  Co-produced and mixed by Jeremy Blair (Guns N’ Roses, DevilDriver) at Temple and House of Blues Studios, and mastered by Robert Hadley (Korn) at The Mastering Lab, the album has a tight, punchy sound with crushing low end and ultra wide sonics.

The Darkness concert to air live on AXS TV Oct. 24


The multi-platinum British rock group THE DARKNESS have announced they’ll return to the U.S. for two one-night-only shows Sunday, October 21 in New York City at Terminal 5 and Wednesday, October 24 in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. Although the above dates mark the only remaining U.S. shows for 2012, on Wednesday, October 24 fans nationwide will get a glimpse of the thunderous power of the band when their Club Nokia concert will be broadcast as an exclusive television event on AXS TV.

In tech news, THE DARKNESS have released their first-ever interactive music app via The App Store and Google Play. For the new app, the group partnered with the technology firm Aurasma known for their one-of-a-kind image recognition technology. Aurasma’s technology  unlocks a virtual world whereby memorabilia from the group’s HOT CAKES album including artwork, tour posters and photos come alive with interactive, hidden content.Also featured, “The Darkness Soundboard” includes soundbites from HOT CAKES that can be shared.
