Yellowcard's new effort out Tuesday

Yellowcard returns with new album Paper Walls on July 17th, the follow-up to 2006’s gold-certified Lights and Sounds and their multi-platinum 2003 smash, Ocean Avenue. Drawing from both the universal, buoyant, hook-filled style of Ocean Avenue and the tougher edges of Lights and Sounds, Paper Walls takes it all a step further with an energized, anthemic and forward-looking set of songs. Paper Walls which will be available in both CD and Deluxe versions will be previewed exclusively on www.myspace.com/yellowcard from July 10-12th. The Los Angeles Times recently described the album as feeling “almost like a singles collection, with singer Ryan Key’s adenoidal yearnings perfect for sorting out youth’s highs and lows” while Absolutepunk.net described it as “an album not only full of sing-a-longs but also awash with full-bodied emotion. This results in a release that leaves both the casual listener looking for a soundtrack to their summer days, and those looking for more depth in their music, immensely satisfied.”

After a stint on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour from June 29 – July 19 and headlining shows to be announced, the band will join Blue October’s on a fall tour from September 20 – November 10. Yellowcard can also be seen performing July 20th on the highly coveted AOL Sessions Under Cover; a slot which was chosen solely on votes from fans. For the lucky hometown devotees in Jacksonville, FL, the band will be making a special in-store appearance at CD Connection from 4-6pm on July 20th.

The lead single off Paper Walls, “Light Up the Sky” has a massive payoff, its refrain won’t leave your head in this lifetime, but allows for some ringing dissonance beneath it all. The accompanying video clip for “Light Up the Sky” was recently shot in Los Angeles and will be debuting on Yahoo! Music on July 10th (www.music.yahoo.com). Look for Yellowcard appearances on MTV’s Made and Cribs.

Yellowcard emerged from Jacksonville, Florida with a completely infectious and original blend of rock, punk and classical (owing to violinist Sean Mackin) that made them a sure thing to break out of the pack, but even the band could not have imagined how far.

Yellowcard is:
Ryan Key – vocals/guitar
Pete Mosely – bass/keyboards/vocals
Sean Mackin – violin/vocals
Ryan Mendez – guitar
Longineu “LP” Parsons III – drums
