Background
Fast-rising young Los Angeles Opera mezzo-soprano and actress Geeta Novotny was Grand Prize Winner of the 2003 International Young Artist Peninsula Music Festival in Palos Verdes. In 2007, Geeta and tenor Christopher Campbell performed the leads in a concert version of Bizet’s Carmen with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra (New Mexico), the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Maria Philharmonic, all under the baton of John Farrer. Geeta and Christopher will be joined by Los Angeles Opera collaborative pianist Victoria Kirsch and Mládí Chamber Orchestra’s flutist Pamela Vliek Martchev, who will perform the Seguidilla and the Act III interlude.
