Guitarist Tom Morello to kick off Justice Tour April 15

Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave who plays firebrand folk as The Nightwatchman, kicks off his Justice Tour April 15 at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Joining him for the show will be Slash, Perry Farrell, Flea, State Radio, Sen Dog of Cypress Hill and Davey Havoc of AFI.

In each city on the tour, Morello teams up with a local social justice organization for a day of activism. His partner for change in Los Angeles is People Assisting The Homeless (PATH).

On April 14, Morello will visit PATH Los Angeles, the facility that features 98 beds of transitional housing and is also home to the PATHMall, a collaborative of nearly two dozen social service providers who provide a complete network of services all located under one roof. Morello will also prepare, serve and share the evening meal with PATH’s homeless clients.

“Our show in Los Angeles is a celebration of the social justice that groups like PATH are creating every day in America,” Morello said. “We’re honored to be invited to see their work up close and take part in serving others – and we’re excited to rock out on their behalf.”

“The Justice tour is an exciting partnership which will help us raise awareness about the crisis of homelessness in Los Angeles,” Joel John Roberts, CEO of PATH Partners said. “We are thrilled to be on-board and look forward to the collaboration.”

Tickets for the Justice Tour at the Troubadour are $10 and are on sale now at TicketMaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and at the Troubadour box office. Doors for the show open at 8 PM.

ABOUT THE JUSTICE TOUR
Tom Morello’s two-week, seven-city Justice Tour stops in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Asheville, NC, Washington, DC and Boston before concluding with a May Day show in Chicago on May 1.

Each stop of the Justice Tour includes a day of activism to focus on a sphere of social justice in America: homelessness (Los Angeles, April 15), safe, secure and affordable housing (New Orleans, April 20), a living wage (Asheville, NC, April 22), peace and veterans care (Washington, DC, April 24), affordable healthcare (Boston, April 28) and labor organizing (Chicago, May 1). In addition, Amnesty International’s TearItDown.org Campaign to Close Guantánamo, Project Noise and Morello’s own Axis Of Justice have joined as partner organizations throughout the tour. The itinerary also includes a previously announced show April 17 at New York’s Nokia Theater to benefit Road Recovery, a nonprofit that helps young people forge a future free from addiction and other adversities.

ABOUT PEOPLE ASSISTING THE HOMELESS (PATH), www.epath.org
Founded in 1984, PATH is a non-profit community organization whose mission is to break the cycle of homelessness by empowering homeless people with the tools for self-sufficiency. PATH works towards this goal by providing services that help homeless people find work, save money, secure housing, and empower their lives.

Initially an emergency food and clothing distribution program, PATH has since grown into a multi-facility organization that provides a wide range of coordinated services for homeless individuals throughout Southern California. PATH serves homeless clients in the following areas:

-Transitional and affordable housing
-Outreach and referrals
-Educational and employment assistance
-Health services
-Supportive social services

The PATH Los Angeles is a 40,000 square foot facility that features 98 beds of transitional housing for men, women, and families, and is also home to the PATHMall, a collaborative of nearly two dozen social service providers who provide a complete network of services all located under one roof.

PATH serves homeless individuals and families in several sites throughout Los Angeles County. Housing facilities are located at the PATH Los Angeles and in West Los Angeles. PATH also operates five job centers in South Central Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Hollywood, and the Antelope Valley. Each year, PATH serves over 12,000 homeless men, women and children in Los Angeles.
