Mark Wilkerson, author of the new book Who Are You: The Life of Pete Townshend (Oct. 2008, $29.95, Omnibus Press, ISBN: 9781847727046) will visit Los Angeles on Sun., Nov. 9, just hours before The Who’s second show at the Nokia Theatre. As part of his national book tour, Mr. Wilkerson will present a talk/book signing at Barnes & Noble - The Grove, 189 Grove Drive, Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, Nov 9 at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Wilkerson will provide Who fans with inside information on Pete Townshend’s life and musical career.

Mr. Wilkerson spent more than a decade crafting this accurate, exhaustively detailed and engrossing account of the life of one of rock’s most noted legends. He interviewed Townshend himself and obtained some revealing contributions from members of Townshend’s family and Who insiders for this captivating biography.

Acclaimed as a compelling and readable account of the life of the man who wrote “Hope I die before I get old', Mr. Wilkerson's comprehensive narrative of the life of Pete Townshend is an instant classic rock biography, full of fascinating detail and unexpected revelations. The book captures the excitement Pete Townshend generated at the inception of his musical career in the early Sixties and brings his story right up to date with many fascinating stops on the way. The 642-page book also features 24 pages of photographs and a foreword by famed Pearl Jam frontman and Townshend acolyte Eddie Vedder.

Having now reached his sixties, Townshend has battled drug and alcohol addiction while becoming one of rock’s most eloquent and intelligent spokesmen. Ventures as a solo artist, Internet pioneer, literary editor, short story writer and dramatist have vied with one another while his well-publicized public rows with Who singer Roger Daltrey have become the stuff of legend… and recent Who revival tours have ensured that the musician from West London who helped revolutionize ‘60s rock can still be seen doing what he became famous for in the first place.
