OUT TODAY:
Jeffree Star
"Beauty Killer" - Popsicle Records
The debut album from Jeffree Star - Mrs. Orange County, self-proclaimed boyfriend thief, and Queen of the Beautifuls - an internet phenomenon turned into a real life success story. His big breaks may have been fortuitous, but his rise to fame has been anything but coincidental. Jeffree Star works his ass off. "Beauty Killer" comes out via Jeffree's own Popsicle Records (through Warner's Independent Label Group).
Jeffree's recent headlining tour was completely sold out and while on Warped this summer he attracted never ending lines at his singings, lasting up to four hours daily. The lead single, "Prisoner" is undeniably catchy and has the ability to seduce anyone vulnerable to a fist-pumping electro-rock anthem. For those who dig them some Lady GaGa, Boy George, Cobra Starship, Katy Perry, Marilyn Manson or 3OH!3, this is for you. Jeffree Star in NYC and available for press Weds, Sept 30th and Thurs, Oct 1st.

Brother Ali
"Us" - Rhymesayers
The follow-up to Ali's critically acclaimed "The Undisputed Truth" which wound up on both Spin and Rolling Stone's Top 50 Albums Of The Year list for 2007. A profound personal glimpse into a vulnerability seldom seen or heard in music, Us touches on the strengths and flaws of the human condition, exploring drug abuse, divorce, homophobia and many more topics that most people are scared to touch in their own lives, much less on an album for the world to see.
As with previous endeavors, the beats here are courtesy of Ant, whose production work seems to be getting more soulful and lush by the minute. The guest appearances only accentuate Brother Ali’s strengths, with Chuck D, Freeway, Joell Ortiz and Stokley Williams of Mint Condition making strong appearances. Brother Ali's two month long "Fresh Air" tour kicks off tonight in Duluth, MN. All dates available on his MySpace.
