Charles Phoenix to present slide show at Descanso Gardens

Known for his laugh-out-loud celebration of retro car culture such as suburbia, fast food stands and L.A. landmarks, Charles Phoenix brings his hilarious slide show to Descanso at 8 p.m. on Feb. 20 as part of the Gardens' "Golden Age of Camellia" Festival.

Phoenix will incorporate images of Descanso's past beauty pageants and flower shows into his classic and hip living room slide show that sings the praises of kitschy mid-century Southern California life and style.

Camellia cocktails, created exclusively for the party by Patina Catering, will be available for purchase before and after the slide show.

In keeping with the theme, coming to the event dressed in clothes of the era is not discouraged.

Cost for the event is $25 per person. Tickets are available at www.Ticketweb.com.
