The Undeserving sign with Warner Bros. Records

Rock newcomers The Undeserving have signed a recording deal with Warner Bros Records, which will release their debut album in 2010. The Ohio band’s first single, the impassioned, uplifting “Something to Hope For” was featured throughout a promo campaign for season nine of American Idol that ran over the holidays on FOX.

“Something to Hope For” can also be heard in the upcoming season premiere of the CW network’s One Tree Hill on Monday, January 18th. The song is now available for purchase exclusively on iTunes.

The Undeserving is comprised of brothers Clay and Kyle Kirchenbauer (vocals/piano and drums, respectively) and well as Brennan Willis (guitar) and Jimmie Getty (bass). All four grew up in a tiny town outside Toledo, OH where the cultural hub was the local Walmart. Wanting more, they each turned to music as a way out, eventually finding one another and forming the band.

Raised in a musical family, the brothers Kirchenbauer eschewed traditional music lessons in favor of developing their own style. The result is emotive, piano-driven rock (think Keane, The Fray) with simple but highly personal lyrics. “We want to bring a positive message and a message of hope and encouragement to our listeners,” Clay says. “I think that comes from the fact that there is so much in the world that is negative and brings people down. It doesn’t have to be like that.”

Stay tuned for more from The Undeserving, coming soon on Warner Bros Records.
