Otep on tour with Static X

OTEP, NEW ALBUM ON THE HORIZON & TOUR ALONG WITH STATIC-X!!!

OTEP are in full swing and touring across the nation in supporting Static-X.

Though the new album, 'The_Ascension' is not quite available for purchase yet... here is what the press is saying...

“The titanium-tonsilled female singer for the LA goth-metal quartet that bears her name can switch-flip from church-burning black priestess to breathless stalker to lava-barfing lush machine, hungry to convince the world it needs a Satan-friendly version of Evanescence’s Amy Lee….Otep’s third album mostly stays within the known realm of four-horsemen drum attacks, wrist twisting riffage and dark-lit industrial eeriness.” -Blender

"Rather than engage in behavior that may harm your flesh, cranking the volume on this disc will make you feel much better...when you're mad at the world, and need a soundtrack, Otep's latest is here for the taking." - Outburn

“The_Ascension flows like a smooth ride on a raw nerve.” –Phoenix New Times, AZ

“The album is loaded from top to bottom with rip roaring rockers…this is a welcomed heavy-duty masterpiece!” –Harder Beat, TX

“The_Ascension is like a chemically altered vortex where Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain are meeting for the first time, and In Utero and Live Through This are but glints in their lovesick eyes.” –Illinois Entertainer, IL

Personal issues delay Fall Out Boy's tour

Fall Out Boy announces that due to personal issues beyond the band’s control, the first few weeks of The Honda Civic Tour have been delayed. These shows will be rescheduled to the end of the tour.

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz says, "Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, we are planning on this being the biggest and best Fall Out Boy show that we could possibly have. Unfortunately, because of some personal issues we had to delay the tour a few weeks. We want to put on the best possible show we can and know that this extra couple of weeks will give us the time to put ourselves in the right place to put on the best show we can. The shows from the earlier part of the tour will be rescheduled to the end but all tickets will be honored for all moved shows. Again we apologize. Our fans really mean the world to us and I promise the wait will be well worth it."

The only show that could not be rescheduled due to routing conflicts is the Sacramento show. Ticket holders for the Sacramento show can refund their tickets and can also re-buy tickets for the Concord date at point of purchase. Tickets may also be exchanged at Concord box office night of show for comparable price level, subject to availability. Refunds for all rescheduled shows will be given at point of purchase.

Known for the most dynamic artists and entertaining stage productions, this year’s Honda Civic Tour is no exception. With this year’s all-star line-up, fan’s are in for a wild summer!

The new album also finds Fall Out Boy working with megastar hitmaking R&B producer Babyface for the first time.

Till We Die announces CD release party

During the late ‘90s, Massachusetts saw many up-and-coming local rock acts rocket up the charts to stardom. Ten years later, it appears as though the region is readying for another uprising of hard rock acts – including the leaders of the pack, Till We Die.

“I haven’t seen a young band draw crowds like they do at their shows since the early days of Godsmack back at the Brewhouse in Haverhill, MA, ten years ago before they were signed,” says head of Screaming Ferret Wreckords, Tim Koukos. “These guys command the same kind of energy and presence as Godsmack did back then.”

Formed in 2004 by singer Matt Ingham and guitarist Joe Demarco, the duo soon enlisted the rhythm section of bassist Mike Laroache and drummer Dave Stewart. With a sound that manages to touch upon both Tool’s prog explorations and melodic rock, the quartet began playing out live, and immediately began turning heads – leading to opening gigs for such renowned acts as RA, Lacuna Coil, Staind, Tantric, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, and Powerman 5000, among others. Additionally, Till We Die has played countless shows up and down the east coast, and was offered to support a 40-date Jagermeister tour in October of 2005, where they played with Scum of the Earth. Due to their earlier successful opening spot for RA, the group has since invited the then-still-unsigned band on several tours of other parts of the country.

Joe DeMarco & Dave Stewart add, "It has been a long road to get were we are now, and hard to express the excitement of everything that's going on and happening all around us at this point. We feel this new material that we've recorded is some of our best work to date! We're looking forward to unveiling it to the masses."

Their live performance is what they have built their reputation on and are always giving fans a dynamic and intense set, and after recently signing to Screaming Ferret (distributed by Fontana), Till We Die has succeeded in translating their live experience to the studio. The group’s full-length debut, ‘Pressing On,’ will be released on Tuesday, June 19th, and will be followed by a CD release show at the Avalon in Boston, Saturday June 23rd. The confirmed details for the release party are outlined below.

Australia's Xavier Rudd readies Anti debut

Xavier Rudd – the acclaimed Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist – will release the follow up to his acclaimed Anti- debut, Food In The Belly on June 19th. Titled White Moth, the disc finds Rudd speaking out against his country’s Aboriginal land right policies which have led to the wholesale displacement and mis treatment of its indigenous people.

“This album reflects my journey up to this point,” explains the Australian born, Rudd. “Over the last few years I’ve been gifted strong connections with some powerful old spirits from parts of this earth and some have offered their voice and sacred knowledge of their ancestors to this album. Which for me is an honour beyond words.”

In advance of the disc, titled White Moth, Rudd is confirmed for a Bonnaroo performance on Saturday, June 16th.

Xavier and co-producer Dave Ogilvie (David Bowie, Marilyn Manson and N.E.R.D.) recorded the bulk of White Moth in the woods of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast at Gggarth Richardson’s studio, The Farm. However, the disc counts the voices of Aboriginal people captured in Arnhem Land – to the northeast of Australia’s Northern Territory – and boasts members of the esteemed Aboriginal musical group Yothu Yindi on a number of tracks.

Joined by percussionist Dave Tolley – a guest on Food In The Belly turned new addition to Rudd’s line up – White Moth also finds guest player Panos Grames (who lent his wares to Food In The Belly track “Mother Earth” and is the right hand man to esteemed Canadian environmental scientist and activist David Suzuki) in tow. First Nations Cree elder Kennitch also traveled from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to the White Moth sessions and can be heard lending traditional healing prayers and drum to “Foot Print” and “Message stick.”

“[Rudd] offers a strikingly original mix of music,” The Boston Globe wrote of Food In The Belly. “Some of his sound (and idealism) echoes the surf-folk of Jack Johnson, while his Weissenborn guitar-playing evokes Ben Harper. But mostly, Rudd is on a plateau of his own, playing a one-man blend of guitars, Yidaki (didgeridoos), stomp box and various percussion. Expect this album to crack some top 10 lists.”

Meanwhile, Jambands.com said, “the Australian troubadour’s stripped-down approach conjures up images of some dude you know entertaining friends around the campfire… Such is the intimate quality of Rudd’s music.” To which, All Music Guide added, “Xavier Rudd is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist with simple, yet profound, thoughts on life to impart.”

Xavier Rudd’s previous albums, Solace (2004) and the aforementioned Food In The Belly (2005) earned platinum and gold sales certifications in Australia. His DVD Good Spirit (2006), counting footage from his sold out April 14, 2004 show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, was just recently certified gold in Australia.

The Bravery to release second album in May

After eight months off the road working on the completion of THE SUN AND THE MOON, The Bravery are set to release their second Island Records album out May 22nd, first single “Time Won’t Let Me Go”. Fans can listen to a medley of three new Bravery songs “Believe,” “This Is Not The End” and lead single “Time Won’t Let Me Go” exclusively on their official website www.TheBravery.com

THE SUN AND THE MOON was produced and mixed by two-time Grammy Award winner Brendan O'Brien, best known for his work with Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and other multi-platinum acts. As reported on Billboard.com, “the album is tipped to include ‘The Ocean’ (an acoustic, string quartet-backed number, dealing with distances from loved ones) and other tracks include ‘Believe,’ ‘Bad Sun,’ and the harder-edged ‘Every Word from Your Mouth is A Knife in My Ear’.”

The new album follow -up the band’s self-titled Island debut, The Bravery (released March 29, 2005), which debuted #5 in the UK and #18 in the U.S. It spent 24 weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album spun off the #12 Modern Rock track “An Honest Mistake,” whose memorable 25,000 domino-toppling video – distinguished by video director Michael Palmieri’s creative twist on Rube Goldberg mechanics - was nominated for the coveted MTV2 Award in 2005. The second single and video, “Unconditional,” took online honors at FUSE’s “Ovenfresh” program, beating out clips by Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Death Cab For Cutie (among others). The Bravery were also part of Yahoo’s “Who’s Next” and “AOL Music’s Breaker program.”

Known for their energetic live shows, The Bravery toured the world headlining sold out shows in Europe, N. America, Asia and Australia. They also opened for U2 in Europe and supported Depeche Mode on their 2005 - 2006 world tour.

The Bravery – singer/guitarist and songwriter Sam Endicott, guitarist Michael Zakarin, bassist Michael Barreto Hindert, keyboardist John Conway, and drummer Anthony Burulcich – emerged from New York’s underground scene to pact with England’s Loog Records in 2003. In addition to “Artists To Watch” commendations for 2005 by MTV and Rolling Stone, the Bravery was named #1 “Most Promising Act of 2005” on the BBC News website’s “Sound Of 2005” poll. Since the release of their album, they have made tv appearances on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Last Call with Carson Daly, and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.

I woke up alone
I turned on the radio
In search of some peace

Paraphrasing Wikipedia, "Haiku" is a mode of Japanese poetry, which consists of a pattern of syllables of approximately 5, 7, 5. A haiku contains a special reference to the natural world. In this case, A.B. Vidal has chosen "solitude" and "pineapple".

Some doctors may say
That a pineapple a day
Keeps the hemlock away

In addition to bragging rights, the winners, chosen by Vidal himself, will win 3 different limited edition Gnarls Barkley lithographs ("Crazy" lithograph, "Smiley Faces" lithograph, and "Gone Daddy Gone" lithograph) from the Gnarls Barkley vault.

The contest winner(s) will be announced on February 11th, the same day Gnarls will be performing live on the Grammys.

Gallows to take Warped Tour main stage

“Riot-Starting Renegades Gallows Are The Future Of Punk Rock. It’s Time You Were Introduced…” -Kerrang

“just another punk rock band with something and everything to scream about” - Gallows, self described

Epitaph Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Gallows, touted by Kerrang magazine as “the world’s most exciting new band”. The legendary punk label will release the band’s already completed and much acclaimed album Orchestra Of Wolves, with the addition of three exclusive bonus tracks for North America, on July 10.

“Punk rock is back and its new name is Gallows,” says Epitaph president Brett Gurewitz. “This is the band we’ve all been waiting for.”

Comprised of Frank Carter (vocals), Steph Carter (guitar/vocals), Laurent Barnard (guitars/keys/vocals), Stuart Gili-Ross (bass) and Lee Barratt (drums), Gallows hail from the gloomy streets of Watford, UK where they formed in 2005. Inspired by early 80s hardcore bands like Minor Threat and Black Flag, 90s Swedish hardcore such as Refused, the metal riffs of Mastodon and the discordance of underground bands such as Swing Kids, and JR Ewing, Gallows’ ultimate goal was to wrestle punk back from the fashion police and re-invest it with the passion, brutality and menace that characterized their British forebears.

A band with a lesser vision might be swept away by the massive hype that has surrounded the group and their debut release, but Gallows remain firmly rooted in their DIY upbringing and are determined to make their mark in the states with blood, sweat and guts. Never pulling their punches, Gallows instill the most technically sophisticated punk songs with a brutally honest social vision, unflinchingly tackling topics such as hometown violence, date rape and broken homes. The Gallows’ message ferociously paints a picture of camaraderie, self-preservation, confrontation and escape from mundanity.

While Gallows’ impending release has stirred up massive international interest, it has also reignited fervor in punk/hardcore fans everywhere. Moving past the simple rage that fuels many bands passionate outcries, Gallows are not afraid to show heart. On title track “Orchestra Of Wolves,” Carter wails the final lines “the hardest thing/you’ll ever learn/is to love and be loved in return,” a whisper of humanity at the end of a viciously honest diatribe about sexual predation.

“The key factor in this record’s brilliance is that Gallows know how to write ambitiously technical hardcore songs using highly personal subject material and turn them into sing-along friendly anthems that even your gran will be tapping her foot along to” (Drownedinsound.com).

Gallows’ live shows are nothing short of pure madness - “a carnival of love and hate, after which their fans limp home slathered in blood, spit and sweat” (The Observer).

Having already ravished and abused crowds at SXSW 2007 in Austin, TX, the group plans to conquer the US city-by-city on the Main Stage at this year’s Warped Tour.
Epitaph has something and everything to scream about.

Hellogoodbye contest

ACIDplanet.com®, one of the Internet's premier sites for user-generated music, video content, computer-based recording and remixing tools, has launched an exclusive remix contest with the up-and-coming indie-rock band, Hellogoodbye. The band has spent the last two years perfecting their unbridled live show and booty-shaking jams, which culminate in the release of their debut album, Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! With their album release in 2006, Hellogoodbye has signed on with ACIDPlanet for the band’s first remix contest.
“The ACIDPlanet contest is an awesome opportunity for us as a band to get the chance to hear how our fans would add their flavor to our tracks,” says Forrest Kline of Hellogoodbye.
The band is known for their sharp outfits and having a particularly close relationship with their fans.
“Every band wants their fans to appreciate their music – even remixing our songs is the best form of flattery.”
Members Forrest Kline, Jesse Kurvink, Marcus Cole, and Chris Profeta have a very “do-it-yourself” ethic when it comes to all aspects of the band. Hellogoodbye handles most of their production and marketing ideas themselves. Ranging from recordings and album artwork to posters and merchandise designs, all members of Hellogoodbye are extremely involved with the band’s day-to-day business.
Hellogoodbye recently achieved fame with their appearances as the musical guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Last Call with Carson Daly and The Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The band is also taping an episode of MTV Live to be broadcast this summer.
The eleven tracks that make up Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! are a collection of songs that work together to create a non-stop party mix, where no two songs are alike. From the opening beats of the New Wave powerhouse track “All Of My Love” to the tender plucking and pining of “Oh, It Is Love,” Hellogoodbye have created the perfect soundtrack to this generation’s ode to young love.
With over 36 million plays on their MySpace.com page and voted Yahoo! Music’s “Who’s Next?” Winner in December 2006, Hellogoodbye is definitely rockin’ their way to the top of the charts. Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! entered the Billboard charts at number 13, and was the number one Internet and Independent album. Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! has sold more than 300,000 copies. In January 2007, the single "Here (In Your Arms)" saw resurgence on Top 40 radio and entered the Billboard Hot 100 (peaking at #14) and is a certified Gold Record.
Hellogoodbye begins a two-month headlining tour on April 5th. For more information on tour dates, visit http://www.hellogoodbye.net.
ACIDplanet remix entrants will get access to the master tracks from "All of Your Love," Hellogoodbye's second single from Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! starting Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Contestants get the opportunity to create their remix of "All Of Your Love" by downloading track loops using the ACID music creation software to paint the loops into their remix. If contestants don't already have ACID® software, they may download a free copy of ACID XPRESS™ software application. Next, when contestants have completed their remix, they will be directed to return to the main Hellogoodbye Remix Contest webpage and click the Upload My Entry button to upload their track and successfully enter the contest.
All remix contest entries must be fully uploaded by 12:00 a.m. midnight PST by Tuesday, May 08, 2007. The winning remix will receive merchandise from Sony Media Software and Drive-Thru Records including a Hellogoodbye autographed copy of Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, an assortment of Hellogoodbye items such as a hooded sweatshirt, tote bag, DVD, EP, T-shirt, buttons, stickers, and posters. The grand prize winner will also receive Sony Media Software’s award-winning editing applications, ACID Pro software, Sound Forge® software, and five standard Collection Loop Libraries.
