Al B. Sure! returns to the scene with new album

R&B singer, songwriter and producer Al B. Sure! returns with new CD release Honey I’m Home on June 23 on Hidden Beach Recordings. Honey I’m Home is Sure’s first studio-release in over 15 years since he originally made his mark as one of New Jack Swing’s most popular romantic singers and producers. Fans can pre-order the highly anticipated CD at http://www.hiddenbeach.com/albsure.

Honey I’m Home is a musical biography that tells a romantic journey of love, romance and relationships. The 12-track CD features 10 original songs, all written and co-produced by Sure, including the first single “I Love It (Papi Aye Aye Aye),” which impacted radio May 11 as the #2 most added record on R&R and is currently available on iTunes. The sensual slow jam was co-produced by Al’s longtime writing and producing partner Kyle West and features world renowned cellist Tina Guo.

Once word hit the music industry that Sure was working on a new CD, other top hit makers eagerly came forward to work with “ABS!” including producer/songwriter Michael Mani, who co-produced the album’s infectious mid-tempo “Top Of Your Lungs,” the heartfelt “Never Stop Loving You,” and the Sting cover, “Fragile.” Al focused his rendition of “Fragile” to compliment Sting’s original crafting of the song as “a classic song that evokes passion and emotion.” Sure also covered “Lady In My Life,” to pay tribute to his long lasting relationship with Quincy Jones, Rod Temperton and his love for Michael Jackson’s artistry.

Al’s signature hit “Nite and Day,” reached the Top 10 of the Billboard R&B and Pop charts in 1988 and is from his debut multi-platinum selling album, In Effect Mode, which topped the Billboard R&B chart for seven straight weeks.

Since Al B. Sure!’s debut, he has had 15 singles reach the top of the Billboard charts, including “Off On Your Own Girl,” “Rescue Me,” “Misunderstanding,” and has received several Grammy nominations; American Music Award nominations, for which he won an AMA for Best New R&B Artist; Soul Train Music Award for Best New Artist; several New York Music Awards; and more than thirty-five ASCAP Awards for writing and composition performance.

While it’s been fifteen years since the Grammy nominee made his last studio album, Sure has remained a constant relevant source in music as a writer and producer, working with multi-platinum acts such as David Bowie, Richie Sambora, Faith Evans, Rod Stewart, Dave Hollister, Usher, among many others. It was his work as a writer and producer that led him to his new label, Hidden Beach Recordings, home of Grammy® winner and multi-platinum selling artist Jill Scott and the current release, “Change Is Now,” the first-ever Presidential Inauguration CD compilation.

“I felt Hidden Beach was the perfect fit for me as an artist because they respect the artistry of songwriting, as I do,” explains Sure. “I wanted this album to reflect the variety of emotions that people experience in their day-to-day struggles in maintaining relationships. More importantly, I wanted to bring romance back to music.”

Honey I’m Home will be Sure’s fourth studio-release. In addition to In Effect Mode, Al’s other hit records include Private Times..And The Whole 9, Sexy Versus and a greatest hits album entitled The Very Best of Al B Sure!, which was recently released through Rhino / Warner Brothers Records.
