Chickenfoot on tour

Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, and Van Halen front man and bassist Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony have formed a new band called Chickenfoot. Tickets for the first nine road-test shows of the highly anticipated new group sold out in a matter of minutes. To meet fan demand, Chickenfoot are now planning a full length cross-country tour starting August 1 thru the end of September. Chickenfoot’s debut self-titled CD will be released on June 9th. More information on additional North American tour dates will be available shortly.

“Chickenfoot evolved from the four of us jamming together many times over the years for fun,” commented Hagar. “All of us live to play live music and we recognized that on stage we had the chemistry of a band. We are so glad that the fans apparently are just as stoked as we are.”

“We spent a lot of time together in the recording studio to make Chickenfoot live up to expectations,” said Satriani. “We really feel that we recorded a great album and now we are excited to take the show on the road and see how the fans react .”

Chickenfoot are playing a series of intimate venues beginning on May 14thin Seattle. The shows will conclude in Philadelphia on May 29th, with ticket prices throughout averaging $50 per show. Following the North American tour, Chickenfoot will head to Europe for four weeks of festivals and headline dates starting June 20th at the Nova Rock Festival in Austria.
