Guitarist Davy Knowles opening for Chickenfoot Tuesday

22-year-old British guitar whiz DAVY KNOWLES will be in Los Angeles next Tuesday, May 19 @ The Roxy, opening up for new rock supergroup Chickenfoot (Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, Chad Smith).

Davy & his band BACK DOOR SLAM are getting ready to release their second studio album COMING UP FOR AIR (in stores June 16 via Blix Street). Produced by Grammy Award-winning guitarist Peter Frampton and mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, The Who), Davy was also joined in the studio by musicians Fritz Lewak (drums) and Kevin McCormick (bass) — Jackson Browne’s rhythm section — and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Benmont Tench adding keys. The album features 11 new studio recordings including a compelling cover of George Harrison’s “Hear Me Lord” and bonus track “Taste of Danger”--a soulful and dynamic duet with singer-songwriter Jonatha Brooke which is currently impacting at radio.

Davy’s been steadily garnering critical acclaim for his dynamic musicianship and has appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and CBS’ “The Early Show” with BACK DOOR SLAM. He’s also been on the road non-stop, most recently wrapping a solo acoustic tour with guitar legend Jeff Beck. Next, he’ll play a number of club dates and major summer U.S. festivals including Lollapalooza, Rothbury Festival and Mile High Music Festival.
