A collaborative effort of music enthusiasts and excavators poised in upholding the believe that musicshould be heard not hoarded. Helping to preserve the audio time capsules of our past.Our passion for traveling and archiving vinyl recordings pushed us to create THE LISTEN VINYL RECOVERY CREW. The team: Rich Spirit, Dj Marlon Fuentes, Renz, Dj Sesqui & Still Wil.
We are constantly recovering and traveling to new territories to bring back to the track, music that inspires and touches souls.v We’ve visited several countries and learned from their culture: Japan, Brazil, Peru,Mexico to name a few. Continuing to recover and collect vinyl Recordings and memorabilia that representsa culture, to bring back to the US and share with the people that can’t get out of this establishment.

DJ RENZ:
Born in Lima, Peru Nov 20th 1977. Arrived in Los Angeles in 1991 for the 3rd time to stay and make Long Beach its home town. His passion for music archiving and collecting records started in the late 90's after finishing high school. It was ignated by dj Jrocc of the Beat Junkies, while sharing mix tapes to Renz in the late90's. Renz is been traveling to South America ever since 2004, on a yearly basis. To learn more about his culture, people and tradition in Folklore Music. In 2008 Renz & Rich Spirit, where invited to contribute and produce part of a documentary for the Discovery Channel call "Afro Latinos".

A documentary exposing the Afro Cultureand heritage of each country in Latin America (12 countries where cover) Rich Spirit & Renz cover their natal country of Peru. Dj Renz is been contributing to the preservation of Latin sounds. Playing only Cumbias, Afro-Peruvian and Salsa for the past 2 years. Expect to dance and sweat once you experience Listen Recovery's sets... We dig deep, to get deeper.

Listening Party dubSpot, New York City’s one-of-a-kind electronic music production and DJ training institute, has undertaken its first nationwide philanthropic project with a series of charitable mix CDs. The first, Funk Aid for Africa, will benefit Los Angeles-based humanitarian organization, Next Aid. An inspired collage of funk, soul, and Latin tunes created by DJ OBaH, Funk Aid for Africa features songs by twenty different artists including Ticklah, Ursula Rucker, King Britt, Chico Mann, The Lions, and Ocote Soul Sounds.

This series of dubSpot-produced benefit compilations will raise funds for various projects by harnessing the positive power of music. The goal for this compilation is to raise awareness and much needed funds for African children orphaned by the AIDS crisis. BFM Digital is on board to digitally distribute the release globally.

Africa Live! is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, restore, and reinvigorate the Ghanaian music scene, creating public and industry awareness for its rich history and value, and commercial opportunities for artists and the community. Ghanaian international music star, Rocky Dawuni recognized the need to safeguard Ghana’s incredible music legacy. Through Africa Live! Dawuni plans to promote music education and appreciation in schools, provide schools and artists with access to instruments, venues and professional production assistance, and foster musical collaboration between the U.S. and Ghana.

We will have an Africa Live! donation box available at Afro Funke' each week.
