Celebrity poker tournament for charity Saturday in Commerce

Starting 2010 off with a mix of fun and a giving spirit, it’s time to hit the tables once again for “All In To Win For Kids,” the annual celebrity charity poker tournament that raises money for two important organizations: Love Across The Ocean (LATO), which is dedicated to assisting refugee families in Southern California; and Therapeutic Living Center For the Blind, which has been serving children and adults with developmental disabilities and blindness for over thirty years.

The event, set for Saturday, January 9 at 2 p.m. at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, California, already has an exciting slate of A-list Hollywood and local Los Angeles media celebrities buying in: Brad Garrett, Dennis Haysbert, Jose Canseco, Scott Elrod, Matthew Borlenghi, Ray Wise, Kim Coles, Daniel Baldwin, poker pro “Men the Master,” Tamara Braun, Erik Aude, Donny Wahlburg, Jeremy London, Dion Basco, Dante Basco, Sean Kanan, KCAL weathercaster Jackie Johnson and other KCAL/KCBS personalities.

Buy-in is $350 at the door or $300 online; the website to register is www.allintowinforkids.org. Non players are also welcome to come watch the festivities for $100 at the door or $75 online.

The festivities will include a silent auction, and “Psychic To The Stars” Spencer Grendahl will be doing readings; prizes include $5,000 cash, a seat in the WPT Celebrity Invitational, a Staples Center luxury suite and designer watches.

Money donated from this event to LATO will help build a school in Quang Tri Province, which was recently devastated by Typhoon Ketsana. Funds received by TLC will help build the TLC Children’s Center, a place where infants, toddlers and preschoolers who are both blind and developmentally disabled will receive the care they need. Conrad Hilton Foundation is matching funds to help build the infant and toddler center.
