It began last Friday when I interviewed Dave Mustaine of Megadeth about their "Rust in Peace" tour. He sounded tired, but was very pleasant and had a lot of interesting th
ings to say, especially about the music industry and the media.Later I went with my friends Carin and Tom to the Fish Company in Los Alamitos. The food was superb - although the company made the meal! Next we went to Old World Village in Huntington Beach to see our friend Byron's improv group, Corporate Recess. They were pretty entertaining... and I must admit that I'm not particularly fond of improv. I would go again with friends, as it made for a nice evening out.
I worked on Saturday and managed to sneak in lunch with Vernor. We went to Chili's and I had my fave- the soup and salad with chips (lots to share!). Sunday I spent running all over with my mom and got home too late to cook the dinner I planned for her. It was OK, though because we ate out so she wasn't hungry.
Wednesday we had a St. Patrick's Day lunch in my department. Everyone brought something to share. I wanted to make cooked carrots, but my co-workers sniveled, so I was assigned dessert and brought a big, huge chocolate chip cookie decorated for the occasion and a box of donut holes. We also had corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, salad, green jello (yummy!), rolls, shrimp chips and more. It was a horn o' plenty for sure!

My boss let me leave early so I could join my special guy and his son for an afternoon of fun. We played mini golf, goofed around in an arcade and then stopped for ice cream sundaes. It was a very happy day for me.
Yesterday began in the dentist's chair for a little needed work and by noon I was on the phone with Ville Valo of HIM. Ville was a sweetie! He shared a lot of his life with me, as I had the pleasure of listening to his lovely voice. It's clear to me why he's the singer lol!
After work I went to the last session of my Hawaiian and Polynesian dance class. It starts again in two weeks. We ra
n through our coconut dance and spent a long time on the poi balls- I'm getting better at them, but it's still tough. Then I buzzed by my friend Louise's house to pick up part of a dress pattern she made for me and have a quick chat. She has been very ill and was tired, so I kept it short.Today I'll be cutting out early to go to the doctor. Every part of me will be healthy by the end of today ha ha ha! And tomorrow Atticus and I will be attending the dog agility class at the Pasadena Humane Society for a story. It should be interesting taking dictation from Atti about his experience... well, you didn't expect him to write did you? He doesn't have opposable thumbs!
Next week will be busy with interviews and writing, with a room for small adventures-- I can't wait to see what unfolds!
In rotation this week: Since October, Megadeth, Cheryl Conley and Jeff Bayless.
Photos we got 'em: Pets from the usual Web sites.
Thought o' the week: Celebrate. I don't mean go out and get blitzed, I'm talking about being thankful and happy over all the little surprises and joys in life and to share your enthusiasm with others.

Thursday I came in to work with a bouquet of multi-colored daisies for my boss to thank her for letting me leave early Wednesday. She asked me if it was Bosses' Day and I told her no, I just want her to know how much I appreciate the way she treats me and that I feel honored to work for her. Yesterday, I took a bottle of wine to Louise as a token of my appreciation for her help with my pattern. I didn't need to, but her smile made it worth while.
Hopefully by sharing (read celebrating) my joys with others will encourage them to pass it forward. And if the happiness keeps getting passed forward, the world will be a better place.
Keep on rockin'
Mickie
