Poetry, art & music in La Canada Flintridge Oct. 10

On Sunday, October 10, from 3 – 5 P.M., Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse is pleased to host Writing the Body, an afternoon of poetry, art and music presented by Poets on Site. Poets on Site is an on going cooperative writing and performance group created in Pasadena by Kathabela Wilson in 2008.

Poets on Site reads a sampling of their work inspired by the art of Toti O’Brien. O’Brien presents a small collection of her pieces, and historical flutes played by Rick Wilson, professor of mathematics at California Institute of Technology, accompany the readings.

Toti O'Brien was born in Italy and lives in the Los Angeles area. She works in a wide range of media, from dance to poetry, from music to visual art. She also writes for several Italian magazines, contributing articles about life and art abroad, and teaches a number of art programs.

Poets on Site write work inspired by nature, science, and the arts, and, in their presentations are often accompanied by musicians, dancers and other performing artists. Over 100 artists from several disciplines have participated in their programs.

This event is part of a series of monthly poetry programs hosted by Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse, independently owned and located in the foothill community of La Canada. It is a general bookstore, stocked with current and past best sellers and also offers a large selection of children’s and young adult publications in keeping with California State Standards.
