Los Angeles-based indie artist Ben Caron will be performing atAmplyFi (LA Weekly, Best Clubs in LA 2012) on Friday, January 25. He will be performing original music from his current EP, Love Me Too, as well as highlights from debut album. Showtime is 8:00 PM.
Love Me Too is the third installment of new music from Caron. He is currently recording his debut album, which has been paid for by donations from his growing sphere of fans through a blog he set up for just this purpose. He has been building his fan base and performing his songs at shows across Southern California. In Los Angeles, Caron is a regular performer and show producer at Rockwell in Los Feliz, where he held residence recently, as well as performing sold-out shows at Bar Lubitsch and M Bar.
Caron is known for presenting a youthful, intimate and sometimes raw, but always relatable take on love and relationships through his songs. On Love Me Too, Caron is delving into bolder, nostalgic tones, as in the case of the title track, “Love Me Too,” he reveals the painful truth of unrequited love. The other tracks on the new EP, “Everything We Could Be” and “This Way Again,” while lighter in tone, are more reflective than his work on his previous two EPs.
Love Me Too is the last EP to be released by Caron before all nine EP tracks are remixed and remastered to join three new songs for his debut album, which is slated for a Spring 2013 release. Donations toward the recording of his album can be made at www.bencaron.info.
