The Von Bondies to perform at the Roxy March 14
Riding a new wave of critical acclaimfor their new album LOVE HATE AND THEN THERE’S YOU, THE VON BONDIES will perform in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 14 at The Roxy.
The Michigan-based band--JASON STOLLSTEIMER (lead vocals, guitars), DON BLUM (drums), LEANN BANKS (bass) and CHRISTY HUNT (guitars) will perform songs from LOVE, HATE AND THEN THERE’S YOU, which is filled with highlights like “Pale Bride,” “Accidents Will Happen,” and “21st Birthday.”
STOLLSTEIMER’s newest batch of songs, as well as BLUM’s co-writes, were penned over the past few years and recorded sporadically during that period. Producers Butch Walker (Hot Hot Heat, The Donnas, All-American Rejects) and Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) fine-tuned the recordings.
About the Von Bondies:
The roots of The Von Bondies can be traced back to the late ’90s--at one point Jason had a band called the Baby Killers--but things really began in earnest when Blum teamed up with Stollsteimer in 1999. The name Von Bondies was born in 2000, and the first album Lack of Communication came the following year. Raw and Rare, a collection of live BBC recordings, followed in 2003, then Pawn Shoppe Heart. It featured their huge 2004 hit single “C’mon C’mon,” which subsequently took on a second life as the theme to Denis Leary’s highly acclaimed FX TV series “Rescue Me.” The Von Bondies spent 2008 touring in support of their self-released EP We Are Kamikazes, which featured selected tracks from the February 3, 2009 release LOVE, HATE AND THEN THERE’S YOU, their third studio album and debut for Majordomo Records (an imprint of Shout! Factory). A limited edition 7-inch single of "Pale Bride" backed with the non-album "Falling In Love" is also in stores now.

Chrisette Michele to debuts single of March 31 album
Grammy winner Def Jam recording artist Chrisette Michele debuts her new single, “Epiphany” off her highly-anticipated sophomore album Epiphany (in-stores March 31st). The singer/songwriter took home a top prize on Sunday night when she won the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance for her single “Be Ok” ft. Will.i.am. Epiphany takes off where her last album I AM left off, only elevating higher as she sang and recorded six songs with Ne-Yo & Chuck Harmony as well as tracks with super producers Rodney Jerkins and Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Leona Lewis).
Lead single “Epiphany” - written by Ne-Yo and produced by Chuck Harmony - is a bass heavy, soul groove that speaks to those who have hurt before and are in need of healing. “I wanted you to walk away knowing who you are and aware that no one can keep you locked in something that you don’t deserve…at that moment you have an Epiphany,” says Chrisette. The single, which has already garnered 5 star user ratings across YouTube, MYSpace and other online communities, launches on iTunes February 24th.
After adding her irresistible vocal charm to Jay-Z’s “Lost One” and Nas’s soulful “Can’t Forget About You” (sampling Nat King Cole) Chrisette took fans by storm with her own hits “If I Have My Way,” nominated for a Best Female R&B Vocal Grammy Award and “Love Is You.” Chrisette then took to the road spreading her voice to fans everywhere with multi-platinum singer Musiq Soulchild and “The Art of Love” tour with soul singer Raheem DeVaughn. The beautiful singer then joined up with Nivea Crème Skin Company for a major ad campaign and was also featured on Tyler Perry’s highly-rated sitcom, “House of Payne”.
Chrisette personally auditioned for and was signed by Antonio “L.A” Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group, who told her he had “goose bumps” after the first time he heard her. “When Chrisette Michele enters a room,” said Mr. Reid, “the room becomes a better place.”

Vigil for Hope seeks support
Dear friends,
The past eight months I have worked on a missing person’s case in Florida; I was the spokesperson for Cindy and George Anthony, the grandparents of the missing toddler Caylee Marie Anthony this was without a doubt the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. My eyes, however, were opened wide to the epidemic of missing persons in our country and around the world. Whether a child or an adult are kidnapped or abducted, so many other issues in the world play a factor: sex trafficking (just this year in Portland, three young adults were rescued from a human trafficking ring in the city only to later find out the three 19 and 20 year olds had been kidnapped at 12 and 13 years old), murder, parent abduction, or under ground adoption (these are just a few of the many circumstances of when someone is gone missing what can be the outcome). Some of the missing come home, but many others (almost a million in the United States alone) are still missing and the more we see their faces the better chance for being rescued or recovered. We need your help…
On Sunday, May 17th across the country we will be hosting our 3rd National Vigil For Hope; our objectives are that prayers, hope, and more awareness will bring more positive results of finding some of the million people missing from their loved ones and friends. I have attached our packet that went out to the media and community organizations for your review.
What we’re looking for are a few community organizations, businesses, and individuals across the country to join our committee, become a partner (all we would do is cross promote each other’s websites), or may be host a site in your community. We have partnered with parents like Hilary Sessions (her daughter Tiffany went missing over 20 years ago and is still missing), Ed Smart (his daughter was kidnapped and a nation thought she was dead, nine months later because of constant visibility on the case and on Elizabeth’s face, an elderly couple spotted her in a store. Today she is a face of HOPE and is in college and being an advocate for the missing) and Erin Runnion who’s daughter was kidnapped and later murdered in California, she has started an organization in Samantha’s memory.
With the national media attention (on Nancy Grace, Dr. Phil, and others) I don’t need to tell you that sometimes with the power of “partnerships” can get the objective a little more attention, which in the end will bring more awareness to the public on the faces that are still missing and we are doing whatever it takes to get millions of people to embrace this mission on Sunday, May 17, 2009.
So whether you are a community leader, operate a community organization, own a business, have been a victim of a crime or you know a family who has had someone missing from their lives, you are a politician, or have the passion and belief “One Person Missing is One TOO Many,” then join our coalition and let’s work together in bringing more awareness and hope to those that need our voice.
Any questions please give me a call (626) 644-3472. Thank you in advance for doing what you can.
Warmest regards,
Michelle A. Bart, National Vigil For Hope 2009 chairperson

Static-X and Saliva to co-headline Sno-Core
Static-X and Saliva co-headline on Sno-Core, as it returns for its 13th year hitting the road April 1, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. The touring festival is the original winter lifestyle traveling fair featuring live music, and an integrated marketing experience.
Static-X will be hammering out their heaviest, most flammable work to date at Sno-Core 2009 in support of their new release CULT OF STATIC, on Reprise Records. The album marries the band's aggressive driving force with disarming experimentation, a performance you do not want to miss.
Keeping the integral tones, Static-X encompasses shredding guitars with solos that have brought the band to a level of playing to be reckoned with. The cybernetic stomp of "Hypure" and "You Am I" bludgeon, bruise and break with precise grooves. Elsewhere, the staccato riffs on "Terminal" crush through an unmistakable guitar tone. Guitarist Koichi Fukuda blazes through incendiary solos, while Tony Campos bolts down demonic bass lines and Nick Oshiro pounds out deadly rhythms.
Front-man Wayne Static riffs pure violence and screams out his soul. “Over the years my voice has been destroyed from excessive touring... and I love it,” exclaims Static. “The vocals on the new record are raw and brutal.” The fiery raw quality of CULT OF STATIC is blatant as the first single “Stingwray” now on the airwaves is climbing to the top.

These images are all around us, hiding in plain sight, in factories, farms and neighborhoods we find ways to avoid. Urban Photo Adventures' monthly tours, workshops and seminars guide photographers through photo-rich environments in the most unexpected places. Experienced guides and docents provide area history and cultural perspective.
Recent participants on the tour had this to say:
Photographer Lee Varis of Varis Photo Media says,
"I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Urban Photo Adventures on their LA River Tour! Mark and Ken have put together an incredible photo experience that takes you into the best possible picture taking environments. No detail has been overlooked in preparing a sequence of locations at the best time for natural light that enhances many photo opportunities. Any serious photographer is guaranteed to come away with amazing images! I can't recommend it enough!"
Gil Garcetti claims,
"I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I know Los Angeles, but I found places in the last two days that I have never seen -- so cool, so marvelous -- and you have to join the group to come and see it. It's worth it. You'll be smiling the way I'm smiling at the end of the second day. You'll see. Take my word."
Jennifer Chen, Associate Editor at Rangefinder & After Capture magazines comments,
"Urban Photo Adventures lived up to its name. We traveled through places unseen in LA and got to photograph places that were unusual and different. Ken and Mark went out of their way to make sure that each photographer had adequate time at locations and really made sure to pick places that were chockfull of visual elements."

Urban Photo Adventures is the only photo tour company dedicated to the urban landscape. There is no improving upon the natural landscape, however the urban landscape provides images that can be just as beautiful, provocative, compelling and even frightening.
