Status Quo to release 30th album
Status Quo, one of the most long-lasting UK rock bands of all time, have sold 118 million records worldwide since their first single, “Pictures Of Matchstick Men,” in 1968. Since then, they’ve enjoyed 63 more British hit singles, 22 of which have reached the Top 10. Eagle Rock Entertainment will release their latest CD Quid Pro Quo on July 12. Knott's aims for world record July 14
Knott’s Berry Farm will attempt to set a record for the largest number of people husking corn on Thursday, July 14. The record setting attempt is part of Knott’s parent company, Cedar Fair Entertainment’s partnership with Guinness Worlds Record’s new division, GWR Live! This partnership includes a summer-long series of interactive events at Cedar Fair Amusement Park’s across the country.
“Knott’s Berry Farm chose a corn husking event because it really takes us back to our roots as a farm,” says Marty Keithley, Knott’s Berry Farm’s general manager. “Knott’s Berry Farm founders Walter and Cordelia Knott came to Buena Park in the 1920’s to make a living farming, and for a time corn was one of their crops.”
Today the park offers over 165 rides, shows and attractions, though it still offers corn in the famous Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
“If it weren’t for the family farm, and later the family restaurant, we would not have Knott’s Berry Farm theme park today,” added Keithley.
The opportunity to be a part of the Guinness Book World Record Event will be open to all paid park guests on the 14th, as space allows.
“To set the record we need to have at least 250 people husking corn at one time, “ said Knott’s Berry Farm spokeswoman Jennifer Blazey, “but we will be prepared for as many as 500 participants.”

Waggin' Train launches jingle contest
For decades, musicians have been singing about dogs - Cat Stevens’ “I Love My Dog,”, Elvis’s “Hound Dog” and Baja Men’s ever popular “Who Let the Dogs Out?” Now, country music legend, Trace Adkins, is searching for the next great ode to the dog.

AARP and Concord Music Group launch online resource for seniors
AARP and Concord Music Group have teamed up to create a new multi-media, online resource designed to help adults find the music they love in the digital age. AARP Internet Radio, a free music player provided by Slacker, features 18 free streaming channels of handpicked music catering to the musical tastes of Americans age 50+ and is the initiative's centerpiece. Its aim: to make enjoying music intuitive and fun- especially for people who have been largely underserved by conventional music sources.
"AARP and Concord Music are uniquely positioned to help adults connect with the artists they love and become engaged in the online community of music," said Hugh Delehanty, senior vice president of AARP’s media properties. "Our internet radio is easy to use and makes new resources available to people who may not be used to getting their music online, as well as those who already are."
"Finding new music and even old favorites has become more complicated and difficult for so many people," stated Concord Music Group president and CEO, Glen Barros. "AARP is a trusted source of information and guidance. Working closely with them, we aim to help adults across the country reconnect with the enjoyment of music and the artists who create it."

Polar Bear Club to release new album
Polar Bear Club is excited to announce a September 13th, 2011 street date for their third full-length album, Clash Battle Guilt Pride. Recorded last Spring with producer Brian McTernan, Clash Battle Guilt Pride is Polar Bear Club’s best album yet.
Vocalist Jimmy Stadt sat down with Alternative Press earlier this summer and said about the record: “[There are songs about] drive and ambition, and what it does to yourself and what it does to your relationships,” he said. Jimmy continued, “Musically, we’re really, really playing up our choruses, moreso than we ever have before. We have three-chorus songs. We’ve never really done that. It’s great. It just makes sense for us to be doing that now, and it feels good, and we all love it.”
Additionally, Polar Bear Club will be unveiling the CBGP cover art, puzzle-style, from now through next Friday on www.ClashBattleGuiltPride.com. Check the website every day to see it all come together.
