Country music superstar Alan Jackson will premiere his video for “Long Way To Go” July 26 on GAC and July 27 on CMT. Jackson will elaborate on the making of the video during his appearances on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown on July 29 and CMT’s Top 20 Countdown on August 5. “Long Way To Go” is the first single from Jackson’s new studio album to be released this fall and the debut single from the joint venture between EMI Records Nashville and ACR (Alan’s Country Records).
The video, directed by Steven Goldmann, was shot at the Square Grouper bar in Jupiter, Florida. It finds Jackson and his band waiting all day to shoot a video in the Florida sun because the forecast is filled with “rain, rain and more rain.” While Jackson, his band and the entire video crew wait for the rain to pass, the fun begins. “I guess I’m lucky – we get to shoot in some pretty cool places, whether it’s down on a beach or on a boat or a river or wherever,” Jackson says. “I’m good friends with the guy that owns the bar, so we thought we’d take the band and go down and shoot there.”

Hailing from the same island as punk godfathers The Ramones, Long Beach, NY pop-punk trio THE NEW ROCHELLES also share a similar penchant for simple, power-pop songs about leather jackets, monsters and getting into trouble. SoundWalk in Long Beach Oct. 1
SoundWalk is a free annual one-night event of sound installations by local and international sound artists held in Long Beach, Ca since 2004. The event, which will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 5:00-10:00 pm, will take place throughout 4th St, Linden Ave, First Street and Elm Ave. Produced and curated by the artist cooperative FLOOD, SoundWalk transforms the sidewalks, storefronts, parking lots, parks and bus stops of downtown Long Beach’s dynamic East Village community into postmodern auditory works of art.
Visitors can expect to find themselves in a city space converted into a sonic canvas on which artists will transform the way guests will explore the East Village. This is Southern California’s premier sound art event which combines a curiosity of noise, urban exploration, and interactive art. Hear the art and meet the artists. Hotels, bars, restaurants, and coffee shops accommodate your visit to the neighborhood.
The City of Long Beach has a goal to be the most bicycle friendly urban city in the country. FLOOD encourages artists and visitors to not only ride their bicycles to the event but also use them to the explore the larger area of this year’s event. The neighborhood is only one block away from the end of Metro Blue line. Secure bicycle parking is available. Metered car parking is available on the street. Additional parking is also available in the parking lot at the NE corner of Broadway and Elm Ave and the SW corner of Linden and 4th at Fingerprints.

By popular demand, Bon Iver has announced a second L.A. area performance taking place on September 20 at Gibson Amphiheatre. Other Lives will be supporting. Camerieri (Rufus Wainwright, Sufjan Stevens).
Pitchfork rated the Bon Iver album 9.5 out of 10 and said this about Vernon, “Now that we've heard him singing hooks with Kanye West and taking the lead on Gayngs songs that touch on R&B and soft rock, the general sphere of Vernon's voice is clear. He simultaneously evokes the grain and expression of soul music along with the mythological echoes of folk. But more importantly, no one else sounds like him.”

White Mystery return to Chicago to headline the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival living up to their reputation as one of the Top 20 Summer Street Fest Bands, and plot their tour of the nation, bringing their Chicago Reader-deemed Best Merch of 2011 along on the road celebrating their sophomore LP Blood & Venom!

Meet White Mystery
If you’re a fan of stripped down garage rock, loud drums, and/or redheads, meet your perfect match. White Mystery is the two-piece brother/sister duo of Alex and Francis White. Alex is best known as the guitar rockin’ front women of MIss Alex White and the Red Orchestra (In The Red), but with her latest venture with brother Francis, she strips it down to a guitar and heavy-handed drum garage rock sound.
Blood & Venom is the follow up to their self-titled, self-released debut LP - that earned praise from NPR's Sound Opinions, won them a tour invite from garage rock legends The Gories and was named by the Chicago Tribune as a Top Ten of 2010. Their sophomore release was celebrated with two hometown shows, a feature on NPR and an art opening of one-of-a-kind band merch. Give a listen to the LP version of "Blood & Venom."

Doll event at Knott's July 30
Kathy and Janet Lennon will be signing their award-winning product line, Best Pals, at Knott’s Berry Farm’s 2011 Doll Event on Saturday, July 30TH. Linda Rick, President/ Artist for The Doll Maker as well as a Precious Moments Artist will also be present at the event.
The celebrity sisters, who still perform in Branson and select venues throughout the year, developed their doll line based on their lifelong friendship and their love for a pair of ragdolls handmade for them by their mother and their Nana in 1949.
As a little girl Linda Rick always believed in fairytales where her dolls would come to life and play. Linda Rick started her business back in 1990, then in 2001 she became the doll designer for Precious moments and the rest is fairytale history!
Knott’s Doll Event will take place at Virginia’s Gift Shop located in Knott’s Marketplace from 11 am – 2 pm. The event includes hourly raffles, doll signing, Knott’s exclusive Limited Edition Precious Moments “Fluttering Around Knott’s Berry Farm” and the introduction of their limited edition Kathy and Janet Best Pals Gift Sets with the dolls dressed in exclusive Jim Shore dresses and aprons. Other doll lines featured at the event include Arista, Charisma, Key to My Heart, Marie Osmond Dolls, The Ashton-Drake Galleries and Lee Middleton Moments.
Knott’s Marketplace is open to the public and does not require park admission. Three hours of free parking is also available.
