Will Hoge to release six-song EP
Critically-acclaimed Nashville rocker Will Hoge is releasing an EP aptly titled THE LIVING ROOM SESSIONS on Ryko on Oct. 12 and will be joining Shinedown on tour throughout November and December.
The six-song acoustic EP was recorded in only two days in Hoge’s living room and features stripped-down versions of essential songs (“Long Gone,” “Favorite Waste of Time,” “Goodnight/Goodbye,” “Too Late Too Soon” and “Even If It Breaks Your Heart”) from his latest album, THE WRECKAGE, and the fan favorite, “All Night Long,” from Hoge’s 2003 album, BLACKBIRD ON A LONELY WIRE.
“I like acoustic recordings that try to be different from the album versions,” says Hoge. “We just got together and camped out at my house for a couple of days… it’s not a home studio, no real fancy set-up or multi-tracking. The console was a laptop on a card table, and that same table also served simultaneously as the keyboard stand. There were no real overdubs or re-dos or pitch correct. We just did it ‘til we liked it and let it be…not out of laziness, it just seemed to fit.”
Hoge, the relentless road warrior, kicked-off his headlining tour last weekend in Nashville, which will continue through October. He’ll then join rockers Shinedown on their “Anything & Everything” tour kicking-off Nov. 4 in Tampa, Fl. and wrapping up in New Orleans, La. on Dec 9. The tour spans over 25 major cities throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast regions of the United States. More dates will be announced shortly.

Joe Satriani to release new album and tour, appearing in LA Oct. 7
Grammy-award winning guitarist, Joe Satriani, is ready to release his 14th studio album, Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards, on October 5, 2010. Following the album’s release, Joe will embark on a world tour, kicking off October 16 in Dublin, Ireland. North American dates will begin on December 1 in Atlanta, with scheduled dates in Chicago, New York, Boston. The second leg of the Satriani’s Black Swans . . . tour will begin on January 4 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with dates confirmed in Seattle, Portland, Bay Area and Los Angeles.
In other exciting Satriani news, music sensation Nicki Minaj recently sampled the classic Satriani song, “Always With Me Always With You” in her new release, “Right Through Me” from her upcoming debut album, due out this November. “Always With Me Always With You” originally appeared on Satriani’s platinum-selling album, Surfing With The Alien.

Nneka to release "Heart Remix" EP Oct. 5
Epic Records recording artist, NNEKA will be releasing her Heartbeat Remix EP on October 5, featuring five remixed tracks of the critically acclaimed single, as well as the LP version. Most bands who’ve just celebrated their twenty-eight anniversary would be forgiven for resting on their laurels, and especially when they’ve more than fifty hit singles and seventy million record sales to their credit. UB40 however, are an exception. Their last two albums, Who You Fighting For and TwentyFourSeven, have been widely acclaimed, and the way in which they’ve triumphed in the wake of lead singer Ali Campbell’s departure has proven truly remarkable.
To suggest that UB40 are currently experiencing something of a renaissance is an understatement. Crowds flock to their concerts, and Robin Campbell’s brother Duncan has quickly made his presence felt in the group. – UB40 have succeeded in rejuvenating themselves to extraordinary effect.

Backstreet Boys on "Don't Forget the Lyrics" Oct. 5
A special all-new celebrity episode, featuring the Backstreet Boys, kicks off the premiere of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” on MyNetworkTV on Tuesday October 5th at 9 pm et/pt. Backstreet Boys’ Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Nick Carter play the game to raise money for UNICEF.
“Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” is the musical game show that tests contestants’ knowledge of song lyrics from different genres, decades and artists. “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” is the ultimate rock star fantasy taking viewers on a dramatic, heart pounding, rollercoaster ride of music and edge-of-your seat entertainment.
Mark McGrath, a member of the multi-platinum group, Sugar Ray, hosts “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” where he brings ordinary people center stage for a chance to win a fortune – just by knowing the words to the biggest hit songs ever recorded. “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” first premiered on July 11, 2007 on FOX and became one of the most popular shows in America, as well as an international phenomenon where contestants around the globe put their winnings on the line as they tried to not forget the lyrics.
In addition to MyNetworkTV, the program is nationally syndicated 5-days-a-week (check your local listings); as well as weeknights at 7 pm et/pt on VH1

Remy Zero reunites to honor drummer Gregory Slay
Remy Zero is reuniting to play only four shows together in a special event to celebrate and honor the life of their drummer Gregory Slay, who passed away on New Year's Day this year.
Compared to the likes of Radiohead and U2 (see quotes below), the band made their musical mark before splitting up in 2002. As a tribute to Gregory, Remy Zero is playing their first set of dates in 8 years, including Dante's in Portland on 10/7, The Crocodile Café in Seattle on 10/8, Café Du Nord on 10/11 and Spaceland in LA on 10/12.
In conjunction with the special dates, the band has released a new single "Til The End" which is currently garnering airplay at radio across the country and is available for free download at http://www.popantipop.com/remyzero/.
