The Rapture’s third album to date, In The Grace Of Your Love, will be released on September 6th and marks a celebrated return to DFA Records, the label whose first single was the band’s landmark "House of Jealous Lovers" 12”. The labels’ co-founders James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy produced their debut album Echoes which spawned a whole genre, paving the way for countless acts that have since come after.
DFA recently debuted the album track “How Deep Is Your Love?” via their White Out Session series which set the internet ablaze. Quickly named Best New Music by Pitchfork, and described by Rolling Stone Magazine as a“piano-sax-and-cowbell-powered disco epic that’s just like heaven,” the song was available as a limited edition 12”. It is currently sold-out and will be reissued in July with a remix from The Emperor Machine.
The band have set the bar high with the first track, but this is just the beginning. The writing and recording process for In The Grace of Your Love connected the band back to why they started playing music in the first place. Drummer Vito Roccoforte explains that they “focused on the process more than the results. We approached the album in a fearless manner, with nothing to lose.” By rediscovering the love for the recording process via each other and the new dynamic of producer Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Beastie Boys, Chromeo) and his studio in Paris, the band worked in a far more focused period of time, unlike on albums past. The results on In The Grace Of Your Love can only be described as glorious.

Masterworks Broadway announces more releases
MASTERWORKS BROADWAY, recently praised by the Wall Street Journal for its ongoing reissue campaign, continues to make good on its promise to open its vaults with three classic cast recordings previously unavailable in the CD era. The Saint of Bleecker Street (1955 Original Broadway Cast), Half-Past Wednesday (1962 Off-Broadway Cast) and Divine Hair/Mass in F (1971) will be available as downloads through all major digital service providers and as disc-on-demand, with the original cover art and liner notes, via Arkivmusic.com and Amazon.com. Also coming this summer are ten recordings available digitally for the first time utilizing the approved master tapes, including Say, Darling, and two live recordings from Noël Coward. All releases will be accompanied by new album pages and photos on MasterworksBroadway.com.

The Grove launches summer concert series July 6
Angelenos will enjoy an added month of summer music this year, Wednesday night’s in July at 7:30 p.m. when Citi presents The Grove Summer Concert Series, produced by Chris Isaacson, who has produced and promoted over 450 events and some of the most influential stars of his generation. Isaacson is also creator and founder of Los Angeles’ renowned Upright Cabaret. Families and friends will gather in the park at The Grove and enjoy the warm summer evenings as they catch live performances by some of the hottest names and rising stars in music. The Australia native who has opened for guitar hero Steve Vai, backed up Carrie Underwood, traded solos with the legendary Carlos Santana and shared the stage with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will dazzle the crowd not only with her gifted guitar playing but also with her powerful rock and roll vocals. Fresh from playing the ultimate house concert of the year, The White House, Aimee Mann returns to the road for a string of West Coast tour dates in August. Kicking off her tour at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano on August 12th, Aimee will make a stop at the Hollywood Bowl to perform in Joni’s Jazz, alongside Herbie Hancock, Clen Hansard, Chaka Khan, Cassandra Wilson and Wayne Shorter and then continue north for a stop at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, along with dates at the Portland Zoo and Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo.

Ryo Vibes, Layla Lane and more slated to perform at AM2 July 1-3
AM2 announces more performers including
MC/Singer/Songwriter/Beatmaker Ryo Vibes, composer Ryoko Amadee Goguen,
Singer/Songwriter/Pianist Kaoru Enjoji, upcoming band Impackt and L.A. based
rock duo Layla Lane who are coming to the coveted Summer Festival stage this
July 1-3, 2011 at the Anaheim Convention Center. More info can be found at

Ryo Vibes is MC, Singer, Songwriter and Beatmaker from Ichihara City, Chiba
Prefecture, Japan, based in LA Reggae scene but also actively performing in
Japan and Jamaica, performing in Hip Hop events. Her goal is to stage power
performances with positive vibes.
Ryoko Amadee Goguen is a composer, pianist and vocalist, and a Visiting
Scholar at UCSD. She lived in Japan until 1999, where she composed and
performed extensively, including composing eight music theater pieces, of
which two Kabuki Theater pieces were the largest. She performed at memorial
ceremonies for the Kobe earthquake, and wrote its official theme song, which
in 1994 won a contest judged by the well known producer David Foster. She is
a copyrighter for JASRAC (the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors,
Composers and Publishers), received a scholarship from the Japanese Agency
for Cultural Affairs, and joined the International Association for the Study
of Popular Music, the Japanese Association for the Study of Popular Music,
the Japanese Music Education Society, and the International Council for
Traditional Music.
Singer/songwriter/pianist, Kaoru originally from Sapporo, Japan, was
attracted to the musical culture's of the US, particularly Los Angeles.
Being there to experience and absorb the different styles of music, she has
now recorded her first CD, with a sound that's being described as J-pop/LA
sound. Feeling it's a good time to share the music lifestyles and sounds.
Impakt is a teen rock band comprised of young musicians ranging from 12-16
years old. At first glance, you wouldn¹t expect much from a band with such
young musicians but, as soon as Impakt begins to play, all doubts are gone
when you watch them perform. Their shows filled with energy and their songs
have powerful messages with catchy rhythms. You¹ll notice every audience
member at some point dancing or nodding their heads as if they¹ve discovered
the next best thing.
Somewhere in the bustling alleys of the pop music metropolis lies L.A.-based
rock duo Layla Lane. With a catalogue of songs in three languages and a live
show that can charm even the most resilient crowd, members Heday and Valerie
have mastered their instruments to deliver a one-of-a-kind brand of dueling

Remember When in Arcadia July 2 for Patriotic Festival
The Jazz Vocal Group Remember When will be performing at the street stage for the City of Arcadia's kick off to the Independence Day weekend with the first annual Arcadia's Best Patriotic Festival from 10:00AM to 3:00PM on Saturday July 2. The free daytime event in Downtown Arcadia sponsored by Arcadia's Best Foundation will feature the first community parade, 10 gourmet food trucks, a car show, street fair, photo contest for prettiest baby and senior, and performances by many local groups.
A local performing group by origin, Remember When will bring its big band sound to the event. Remember When will first perform with the Theater Visions Productions about 11:15 after the parade, and later by themselves at 2:35PM. The stage area on the street at the corner of First Avenue and Bonita Street in Down Town Arcadia, right at the end of the 10:00AM Parade.
Created in the style of many big band and vocal groups from the 1930s & '40s, Remember When is a performing Vocal Group, singing Big Band Vocals, Jazz Standards and Movie Favorites in the greater Los Angeles area. The music is presented in a close harmony four part (SATB) style. The group performs both a'cappella and with big band sound tracks for a full orchestration of sound.
Remember When musical style is reminiscent of the Modernaires, the Pied Pipers, the Four Freshmen, The Lettermen, Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices. Remember When has a fresh approach to a hard to find jazz vocal style.
Arcadia is the home town of Remember When s Founder and Organizer Steve Hawkins. He also attended Arcadia High School and sang in the High School Choir, graduated in 1968 and still resides there today. Many of the members of Remember When either reside in Arcadia, or one of the close neighboring communities.

And the winner is...Cal Phil, Santa Anita Park and all of their loyal fans!
Santa Anita Park officials confirmed this evening that it will serve as the new home for the acclaimed California Philharmonic and its highly-successful Festival on the Green summer concert series beginning next year. All parties involved are working out the details which will be announced by the second concert of this season. The new season at the spectacular venue will kick off on June 30, 2012 and will continue every other Saturday – July 14, 2012, July 28, 2012, August 11, 2012, August 25, 2012 - for a total of five incredible concerts.

But that is just the beginning. Cal Phil’s new summer home also boasts many amenities that will enhance the Festival on the Green experience for both the audience and musicians.
“Cal Phil is honored to call Santa Anita Park its new summer home beginning June 2012. I personally have always been a huge fan of the venue and everything it has to offer ranging from top tier horseracing to amazing views and atmosphere,” said Vener, who founded Cal Phil more than 15 years ago. “The energy at Santa Anita Park is palpable and we are thrilled to share the 2012 Festival on the Green concert series with our longtime followers as well as an ever-expanding new audience.”
Among its many distinctions, Santa Anita Park has ample and convenient onsite parking to accommodate every attendee, plentiful permanent restrooms and four full bars offering not only beer and wine but premium spirits. There will also be live video of the performance on jumbo video screens, allowing music lovers to witness the intricacy and wonder of music making, whether they are seated at a table or lounging on the lawn.
The unique space also features corporate BBQ pits for pre-party festivities and pre-concert family-friendly activities that include pony rides, a musical instrument petting zoo and playground for the kids.
While attendees are able to bring their own picnic or fine bottle of wine, why would they when Santa Anita Park’s award-winning chefs will prepare a wide range of delicious dishes available for concert patrons to purchase on site.
Continuing Cal Phil’s Festival on the Green tradition, there will also be live jazz music pre-concert and, something new, post-concert.
