The Luke Andrews Accident to play at the L.A. Marathon

Soulful Funk/Rock band, The Luke Andrews Accident, is stoked to be playing at the Los Angeles Marathon at 9:00 am at the Mile 13 Block Party (Intersection of Fairfax Ave and Venice Blvd.) in Los Angeles on May 25, 2009. The event is sponsored by the non-profit organization Childshare and will be telecast on KNBC, broadcast on ABC Radio, and webcast on Universal Sports.

Picture, if you will, a head-on collision in the City of Los Angeles between a pop/rock Vocalist, a blues Guitarist, a funk Bassist, and a rock Drummer. With that vision, one can begin to imagine the sound of The Luke Andrews Accident (aka The LA Accident).

The LA Accident showcases the smooth, wide-range vocals of Luke Andrews with an edgy and funky band, which creates an irresistible fusion of funk, pop, and rock. With genuine musicianship and taste for melodic guitar riffs and solos, The Luke Andrews Accident is not just another pop/rock band. With meaningful lyrics, the band performs music that everyone can relate to. There are no "accidents", things just fall into place.

In 2007, a music video for Luke's song Back in Love was filmed during an episode of MTV's NEXT. In 2008, The LA Accident made the Top 25 in KIIS FM's BIG BREAK competition with the video to their song Work It Out. They have performed at clubs such as House of Blues, The Viper Room, Roxy and The Whisky A Go Go. They recently performed at the City of Wildomar's Inauguration Ceremony. They will be performing in the Final round of the Emergenza Festival in July. A win at this show will put them at the Taubertal Open Air Festival in front of (30,000) people and a slot at South by Southwest in Austin, TX.

Since 1985, Child SHARE has found safe and loving homes for over 2,000 abused and abandoned children in Southern California. Working through a diverse ecumenical network of over 400 congregations and community volunteers, Child SHARE recruits foster and adoptive homes and provides support services in 3 languages (English, Spanish and American Sign Language).

Child SHARE finds homes offering long term solutions for the 200 children placed annually: Two out of three foster children placed in a Child SHARE home stay with the SAME FAMILY until they are reunited with relatives or adopted! And, since 2002, one in three foster children in Child SHARE homes is ADOPTED almost TRIPLE the national adoption rate!
