Support music with Sin City Social Club

From Sin City Social Club:

We're havin' a good time here in Austin as usual! We've just moved to a great place over in East Austin and as excited as we were, I'm reminded that moving is a B*tch and I STILL have waaay too much stuff! With all of that going on, we still managed to have a great show with The Mother Truckers, Shurman and Woodsboss, visit Memphis for Susan Marshall's CD Release party weekend and host our first ever Sin City Happy Camper weekend in historic Gruene, TX!
-yeah, our lives are so "boring" sucks being part of the Sin City crew doesn't it!

With all of that wonderful stuff going on, there are some things in life that happen that put everything into perspective. This community has lost some wonderful people over the past few weeks, it started with the passing of our dear friend Duane Jarvis and continues with the sad news of the passing of Stephen Bruton and Willies longtime road manager Poodie. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all friends, family and anyone who these wonderful beings touched in their lifetime. I'm grateful to have been one of those people and the memories will stay with me forever. Blessings to all.

HEADS UP for AUSTINITES!
The next SIN CITY SOCIAL CLUB at THE SCOOT INN is FRIDAY, MAY 29th and we're celebrating our good friends 29 MULES (former Texans) who are coming in from LA to celebrate the release of their long awaited new raucous hard core honky tonk record! They'll be joined by good friends STONEHONEY, Q Country and some new friends of ours indie country rockers The Gentleman Bears!

HAPPY CAMPER WEEKEND- we had a great time out in Gruene last weekend! I was 10 years old all over again! Finally got to spend some time with Frankie Lee and Cindy from Dead Rock West after they played at Gruene Hall with Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers...made SMORES, had midnight full moon canoe rides, sang songs by the campfire, floated down the river ... AND then got to see SHURMAN play a great show with Charlie Robison! Magic I tell ya! If you're friends of ours on Facebook you can check out the photos and make plans to join us next time ....

Speaking of reliving my youth...THE ALLMAN BROTHERS are playing next week at the Greek Theater. For those of you who've been with us for a while, you might remember the Allman Brothers Tribute night we put together over at The King King a few years back! We had a blast and I know a lot of you are fans like I am.

I've got to share a little known fact about my childhood though... being that I have one of the coolest mom's on the planet, I spent the better part of my youth hanging with the ABB band on the road, in Macon, GA and was even the flower girl in Dickey Betts wedding when I was 7! Where are those photo's now? MOM?! I even named my car "The Midnight Rider" ... gotta love it! They still put on one of the greatest live shows of any band out there so I wanted to remind everyone that they're playing next Tuesday & Wednesday so I highly recommend you getting out to the show!

Still reliving my youth...but only going back a few years now. TRAVIS HOWARD, KEITH GATTIS and AUSTIN HANKS together again...I just got word that some old friends and former LA residents will be playing together for the first time in years! Another excuse to get out and shake a tail feather...damn!
