MTV2 to air Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards heavy metal award show

America’s first-ever hard rock and heavy metal music award show, the EPIPHONE REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS, will premiere on MTV2 as a one-hour special this Saturday, May 2 at 11:00pm ET/10:00pm CT/8:00pm PT. A special Headbanger’s Ball recap show will air at midnight ET and the awards will be rebroadcast at 2:00am ET/1:00am CT/11:00pm PT.

A preview segment with CM Punk is set to air during the WWE’s “Smackdown” on Friday, May 1. On May 19, look for Revolver magazine’s “2009 Golden Gods” issue on stands everywhere.

Tune in Saturday to see blistering performances from the ultimate evening of heavy music including headliners Megadeth, along with Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, All That Remains and Suicide Silence. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will also be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Presented by Revolver, America’s leading heavy music magazine, and hosted by actor/comic Brian Posehn (“The Sarah Silverman Program”), the night also features special appearances by Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Maynard James Keenan of Tool and Puscifer, Slipknot, Slayer, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Alice In Chains, Kat Von D, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Chuck Billy of Testament, Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, Dez Fafara of Devildriver, Robb Flynn of Machine Head, Alex Varkatzas of Atreyu, Ken Susi and Trevor Phipps of Unearth, Steel Panther, Johnny Davy of Job For A Cowboy, Matt Heafy of Trivium, BJ Penn and Hector Echevarria of the new film Never Surrender, WWE wrestler CM Punk, Sirius/XM radio host Jose Mangin, nationally syndicated metal radio host "Full Metal Jackie" and more.
