Fresh, powerful, and unlike anything you’ve heard lately! That’s Yalepo!!! In an industry where more of the same appears to be the norm, I’m thrilled to have been introduced to Yalepo! The band is from Amsterdam, not exactly your hotbed of rock! But don’t let that fool you! They bring straight on rock laced with serious metal influence, amazing guitar work, funky, caribbean grooves and bluesy-rock vocals.
Their music will appeal to fans of multiple genres particularly rock, hair metal, modern-day metal , reggae, and even pop! Quite frequently, they take me back to the good old days of rock, particularly Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, and Santana style. Very introspective, deep, and powerful!
Perhaps the most impressive thing about the band is the guitar work by Richard Langendijk using power chords and abundant guitar solos, the band will easily appeal to lovers of hard rock! Very nice guitar work happening here! Lyrically, upstairs is very appealing too! The lyrics are poetic, never shallow, and cover a variety of subjects from peace to love to running with the wrong crowd.
Combining all of the aspects in which the band excels, and you’ve got yourself a force to be reckoned with! Be sure to check out Yalepo for a change of pace and a great rock ride!
