Hey All,
I hope some of you will make it out to the Goffee Gallery tonight (Weds. 12/8), for our show.
We kick off the festivities with a Mano A Mano Chili Challenge, between me, the acknowledged Alpha, and Julie Sandoval, my worthy challenger. Julie owns the Coffee Gallery, and is responsible for the amazing sandwiches and quiches and things sold there. Girl can cook!! But chili is best left to those with the gift ... the calling. Kind of like the priesthood. She thinks she has devised a chili that will send my own brew into the annals of history.
Right!
I'm taking the day off work so I can commune with each onion and pepper, each succulent bit of meat and juicy tomato, each clove of garlic ... coaxing each to it's finest destiny. See what I mean about the calling? But you be the judge. We'll also have home-made Cornbread, Salad and Brownies.
Contrary to my original notice, it has been decided that we will eat first, closer to your regular dinner hour. Then we will retire to the BackStage listening room where we will play and sing joyously. (and in my case triumphantly) The lovely Duane Thorin will kick us off. Then Phil & Nancy Halpin will share some of their beautiful songs.
I will take us home with a set of my own stuff. I may be joined by my sometimes harmony singer, Genevieve Adell. She has a Holiday acting gig that has her schedule in an uproar. Cross your fingers - she's special. I have some songs that are often requested and seldom performed. I'll get to a few of those tonight.
We'll get you out of there by about ten, it being a school-night and all.
