Plan B at the Troubadour Jan. 13

Plan B, this year's top selling artist in the UK will be playing a show at The Troubadour on January 13th.

Raised in Forest Gate, London, Plan B (Benjamin Paul "Ben" Drew) was influenced highly by his love of classic Motown and his appreciation for Eminem, coming into his own, rapping and singing in his own accent. His album, The Defamation of Strickland Banks, debuted at the top of the UK album charts at #1 and hasn't left the TOP 10 since its release in April. It has since been certified triple platinum and features the #1 UK radio hit "She Said."

The album, "The Defamation of Strickland Banks" is the sound of Motown, Stax and obscure Northern Soul, filtered through the grit of contemporary East London. It is Smokey Robinson fused with Eminem.

Plan B characterizes himself as a director, choosing to portray his films through music. The Defamation of Strickland Banks, follows the life of Plan B’s alter ego, Strickland, a sharp-suited British soul singer who rises to fame through his carefully crafted, bitter sweet love songs and is charged for a crime he didn't commit.
