Wine tasting in Charles Krug's Redwood Cellar in March

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Charles Krug, Napa Valley’s first winery, proprietor Peter Mondavi Jr. announces an inaugural pair of intimate tastings in Charles Krug’s historic Redwood Cellar on Friday, March 4th, and Friday, March 11th, at 2 p.m. The two inaugural barrel tastings will be personally hosted by Peter Mondavi Jr., with a maximum of eight guests in attendance.

“My goal is to share with our visitors my family’s commitment to making the very best wines with a focus on Bordeaux grape varietals,” says Peter, who will talk about the rebirth of Charles Krug Winery as he pours Limited Release and Family Reserve wines.

Tastings will be accompanied by local artisan cheeses, freshly baked breads, and Peter Mondavi Family Olive Oil.

Each tasting will run approximately 1.5 hours in length. The fee is $50.00 per person and Wine Club Members may reserve two seats at 20% off ($40.00 per person). The tastings are open to guests 21 years and older and reservations are required by contacting Denise DuMond Berghorn at (707) 967-2297.

Subsequent barrel tastings, guided by Charles Krug tasting room staff, are scheduled for Saturdays at 2:00 p.m., commencing March 19.
