Platinum artist Dierks Bentley is joining forces with CMT LOADED for country music’s first user-created, green screen, viral music video. CMT will look to thousands of video makers to put together their own version of Bentley’s music video “Free and Easy (Down The Road I Go).” Using pre-taped performance footage of Bentley in front of a green screen, contestants will be able to submit their entries at CMT.com beginning Thursday, August 23.
Edited portions of the green screen music video will be made available for download over a ten week period, from August 23–November 5. CMT is asking viewers to add their own original background footage, animation and special effects and submit their version of the Bentley video back to CMT via CMT.com. Winners will be chosen bi-weekly and their video clips will be showcased on CMT TOP 20 COUNTDOWN and on CMT LOADED. At the end of 12 weeks, two new versions of the video will be created and showcased. One video will contain the backgrounds from the five bi-weekly winners and will premiere in the CMT TOP 20 COUNTDOWN. The other “broadband version” of the video will premiere on CMT LOADED and will contain backgrounds from as many submitted videos as possible.
