Saosin still on the road

Southern California quintet Saosin haven’t slowed down since the September release of their self-titled debut CD on Capitol Records, embarking on an infinite touring schedule, that includes Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour, Projekt Revolution and now once again a national headlining club tour. Saosin – made up of Cove Reber (vocals), Chris Sorenson (bass), Alex Rodriguez (drums) and guitarists Beau Burchell and Justin Shekoski – will be hitting the road with Norma Jean, Alexisonfire, The Dear and Departed and Envy on the Coast starting Sept. 28 in Seattle with a fan club presale running 8/14- 8/17.

It seems as if the band will never go home, spending most of the year on the road with fellow rockers Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday among others on the world famous Projekt Revolution tour, winding up in Colorado in September. Projekt Revolution is a unique tour experience that merges a variety of music styles personally selected by the Linkin Park.

Saosin is one of the fastest-growing headliners in rock – earning mainstage slots on the Vans Warped Tour, selling out clubs in a flash and garnering an ocean of fans who’ve downloaded their songs from MySpace over five million times – all before they had released a full-length album. The band’s sound and its ambition grew tremendously during the recording of their 12-song debut, an album that exceeds even the wildest of expectations. From the dueling guitar crunch of opener “It’s Far Better to Learn” to the nosebleed anthemic heights of lead single “Voices,” the livewire maelstrom of “Follow and Feel” and epic heartstring-puller “You’re Not Alone,” Saosin have created the kind of debut album that announces something indisputably new under rock’s sun.

While in Sweden the band shot a video for second single “You’re Not Alone,” following the success of the single and video for the track “Voices,” with the Grammy-nominated team of directors at Popcore Films (underoath, From First To Last, Norma Jean).
