The term “Spanish rock band” seems to be an oxymoron. Everlyn is about to change that perception. This Madrid-based quintet has set out to put Europe and the world on its collective ear.
Being a rock band in this part of the world is not easy. Latin music dominates the airwaves in their country. But eventually most popular American and British bands penetrate their borders. Everlyn’s early influences have been bands like Green Day and Jimmy Eat World. The band has toured extensively in Europe for years and recorded a self-released EP with producer Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Senses Fail), while establishing a reputation as an outstanding live act. They have shared the stage with acts like All American Rejects, Blink 182, Simple Plan, Sum 41, Flogging Molly and The Get-up Kids.
At the end of 2011 they hooked up with Berlin-based producer Flo Nowak. Nowak and the band worked hard to carefully craft Everlyn’s style. Fronted by the stunning Karol Arribas, the band recorded their debut album “A Ticket to the Moon” (which will be released through BMG in Spain), their most commercial music to date. “Dreams are for Those Who Sleep” seems well-suited for mass exposure in the US. “What Goes Around’ which features Arribas’ booming vocals and the quirky “Analogies” could also help garner the band a wider following. The upcoming LP was recently selected by Spain’s Rockzone Magazine as one of the "Most Anticipated albums of 2013."
Last year, the band caught a huge break when Coca Cola asked them to write a song for their massive “Better World” campaign. Everlyn’s “Time To Change” was then selected as the song/video used in the advertising and the band as the main image of the whole campaign widely exposed on TV and internet.
Now with sights set on North America, Everlyn is ready to break out in a big way in 2013.
