THE ROYALTY’s debut Victory Records release Lovers was praised as “one of the most unexpected and enjoyable rock records of the year,” according to the NEW YORK TIMES.They’ve captured the best elements of indie, rock, soul and pop and created something much more interesting. Female front woman Nicole Boudreau’s classically quixotic voice mixed with swaying baselines and relatable lyrics come to life through their recent music videos for songs “How I Like ‘Em” and “I Want You”.THE ROYALTY’s videos provide evidence of their ability to cloud the musical boundaries. “Bartender” is another must see video, for its sexy funk/soul aesthetic will have fans of FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS and BEST COAST screaming “Baby!” OrderLovers on vinyl through the Victory Records’ webstore and check out other available merch.
THE ROYALTY has been featured on such shows as Underemployed (MTV), Startups: Silicon Valley (Bravo), The Real L Word (Showtime), Couples Therapy (VH1) and Jersey Shore (MTV); their sweet harmonies served as backdrops to some of the most watched series on television today, legitimizing what was once just a small Texan start up band. Tune in to tonight’s episode of Catfish (MTV) and hear “Won’t Be Long” from their recent album Lovers.
Fans now have a chance to see the feel good, toe-tapping vibes from THE ROYALTY in person. Don’t miss out on the musical journey they will take you on, through sailing vocals and timeless melodies.
